There you are, typing away at some company emails. " at MyCompany, inc. we are dedicated to bringing you the finest most reliable blah, blah blah, blah, blah..." You've spelled out your company creedo so many times, it no longer has any meaning to you.

-Best Regards -BLAH BLAH BLAH - Uh oh! - you've typed your name so many times you resent it, and The J-O-H-N D-O-E keys are practically worn out!

This is No Bueno!

Enter FastPaste and get ready to make a real working clipboard out of the old "copy-cut-paste" routine.

Now you can store commonly used text passages and assign them a hot key; you can write whole sentences with one single keystroke. FastPaste allows you to quickly insert text, rich text, images, or execute simple keyboard scripts (for filling out forms or sending key combinations).

For example, you can press Ctrl+1 and FastPaste will automatically insert your email address, or any other predefined text, image, rich-text. Or, in the Professional edition, FastPaste can also execute a keyboard script (e.g. write something, press Tab, write something else, press Ctrl+Enter.)

With keyboard scripts, you can fill out a form with just a single key stroke! As a bonus, it can also do on-board text manipulation. With FastPaste, you can even auto-convert text to upper, lower, proper, sentence, reverse and zIG ZaG!

Looking for more powerful features? How about keyboard scripts, encryption, USB portability, sidebar docking, an improved GUI, Unicode support, and much, much more!

With the new version of FastPaste, you can now include date/time stamps in the inserted text, and even construct your own date/time stamps using tokens, such as "{YYYY}" for the current year (2012)!

Finally, rest easy. FastPaste provides a one-click wipe of the clipboard so that nobody will ever find that other version of the company slogan!

Jaap Aap Just trying this out. I was expecting there would be a simple way to fill the project entries (say from a text editor) by just copying phrases to the clipboard in sequence, but this does not seem to be the case?

Jiri Novotny You have to paste the copied text into the individual clips in Fast Paste, there is currently no way for the clips to automatically pickup phrases from the clipboard.

Gabriel Zastawnik Hi guys. Can you tell me if your program suffer from "break clipboard chain" problem ie. when bad written application from another vendor is run and clipboard chain is destroyed?
Jun 27 2014 at 10:16am Copy Link
Jiri Novotny Possibly, however you can prevent that by changing settings. If you go to menu Options - Options - Pasting, you can change the pasting method to Key by key (emulate typing) and the clipboard isn't utilized then.

Matt Spam?

Lexa Imqerov's only three comments on BDJ, (two of them on Dextronet's pages), have all been links to Ami Pages.

Jaap Aap When using the standard version as a trial I can edit a script but then get all kinds of nag screens when trying to use it, telling me to update to the pro version -can't even delete the non-functioning script. Will this annoying 'feature' be removed when using a non-trial version and will the whole script editing part (and the encryption) just be taken out of the menus and toolbars?
Jun 28 2014 at 9:27am Copy Link
Jiri Novotny If you click the edit button in the clip with the script, it should ask you if you want to delete the script.

If you try to add a script in the standard edition, it will ask you if you'd like to upgrade.

Jaap Aap Thanks for that fast reply Jiri. I am afraid that I am not offered the option to delete the script, only the 'you can't edit scripts, would you like to upgrade' screen comes on. While I understand that you want to inform users on the option to upgrade, leaving the disabled options active in the menus and toolbars to me really gives the SW a 'shareware' feel. Just my 2 cents, I do like the application and the clarity of the interface BTW.

Jiri Novotny After clicking Edit and then selecting No in the 'you can't edit scripts, would you like to upgrade' dialog you're asked if you want to delete the script.

Steve M. Like Jaap Aap, I would also like automatic clip archiving (call it "Fast Copy"). I would also like the ability to have more than 30 clips per projects. I've been using the freeware Clipboard Magic and it allows both.

Unfortunately, Clipboard Magic only supports plain text, so no Rich Text, no images and no scripting.

I'm considering FastPaste, but I don't want to lose function, especially if I'm paying. If FastPaste had that Fast Copy option (maybe an "auto-capture" project) and the ability to define the size of my projects, you might have a buyer.

Petr Hello Jiri,
Are you saying that pressing Ctrl-C does not load the selected text to FastPaste? If I want to utilize FastPaste, I would do as follows:
#1. select text, graphics, rich text or URL
#2. Use Ctrl-C to copy to clipboard
#3. open FastPaste, create a new 'item' and usDe Ctrl-V to paste to the new item in FP

Can you direct me to a video showing how it is used. I don't like installing trails on my main computer. I just want to understand it's use before deciding if I want to purchase.

If I buy the 3 PC license, is there a way to copy my FP library or database to another PC easily?

How else does FP differ from a Clipboard Manager utility?
Thank you

Jiri Novotny Steve, you can create hotkeys to switch between different projects (up to 10) so you can basically have 300 clips accessible via shortcuts.

Petr, Ctrl+C loads the text into Clipboard and you can do a few operations with it (reverse, lower/upper case, capitalize, make sentences) using FastPaste. However if you wish to store the text in a clip, you have to open FastPaste (you can do so using a global hotkey) and paste it into a clip. You don't have to create clips, these are already there, like you can see on the first screenshot above.

You can easily move your clips between computers. Simply move the project file to another computer (or use Dropbox) and open it.

I don't know which Clipboard Manager you want to compare FastPaste to, however you can also have rich text and images in your clips. If you decide to go with the Professional edition you can create scripts. You can create a script that will for example open Outlook, create a new email and write the subject and email body, all with a single press of a shortcut triggering the script.

Petr Jiri,
Thank you for answering my questions. Although, now the deal has expired. I am interested in the FastPaste 3 Professional 1-user-3-PC Pack. Can you extend the deal?
