With uncountable bits and bytes flying all around you and data transfer taking place at record bandwidth, important and confidential files and folders require a robust level of protection to keep you safe from illegal access by intruders and information spies.

Files and folders that are left unprotected can become a direct victim of theft, loss, and breach of privacy and confidentiality. This can leave you in dire consequences! Given the omnipresent threat of physical theft or loss, data security is more important today than ever before. Thanks to today's promotion for Windows, you can meet all of your data security needs with a small but powerful software application called Folder Lock!

Folder Lock protects your important data by locking it, hiding it and encrypting it with an unbreakable data protection algorithm. With the power of Folder Lock's seven security tools in your arsenal, you'll be able to lock down files, folders, and entire drives, safeguard your personal data in Wallets, shred files securely, and cleanse your Windows usage history. No other security program gives you the broad spectrum of features that are included in Folder Lock, such as app-level password security, hack security, auto protection, and even a stealth mode - compatible with both 32-bit and 64-bit Windows platforms.

For encrypted storage, take advantage of Folder Lock's 'Lockers', which now support encrypted storage in network shares and servers for use by multiple authorized users. You can even use Folder Lock to convert any locker to an encrypted executable file that can live on a USB flash drive or CD for maximum safeguarded portability! Of course, you always have the option of having Folder Lock automatically back up anything that you place into an encrypted locker! And don't forget - lockers can't be deleted from the PC that has Folder Lock installed, nor can Folder Lock itself be uninstalled without the correct password!

wts Beware this company. I bought Folder Lock when last offered 5/23. Within a few days it reverted to the trial version due to a problem with my PC. Long story short, I answered every question from them about my purchase, but they did not give me information to re-register. Then they did not answer my emails and did not respond to any of my queries via the contact form on their site, either.

I have bought many products via BitsDuJour and have never dealt with a company as unresponsive as this one even when I had a problem similar to this one with another piece of software. I did exactly as New Softwares asked, and I can assure you that I did not overdo it in sending too many emails or using their contact form more than once despite their total lack of response. My last contact was sending them my new email address after my old provider had gone out of business.

They didn't even have the courtesy to offer a refund if they weren't going to make their product useable. Just nothing - no response at all after requesting and getting from me the information they already had on file from my purchase.

So beware dealing with New Softwares if anything should go wrong on your PC with their licensing scheme.

Jonathan Ladd @ wts, I am sorry to hear that. It's likely that you have changed computers and Folder Lock needed to registered on your new PC. We never purposely ignore our customers, in fact, we won several customer orders just based on our speed of customer service. If you forward me your serial key and email address, I will resolve your issue.

Angelina Smith This encryption software is a bargain here. I've tried true crypt & Zone Alarm and I can say this product is better in the sense that you can create portable, self executable lockers. Basically, you don’t have to have folder lock on the other end when you attempt to access lockers on a jump drive on a different PC.

bvssunnydale re the "Beware this company," at top, I also purchased it from BitsDuJour (probably the same date) and have had nothing but good experiences with it. My one disappointment (and I've contacted them about this, and they responded quickly), is that there's no way to run this in "stealth" mode (for example, at my office, I don't want my boss to know I have training videos (seriously) on my computer that I watch when there's a slow period (I run them from DVD's instead). FolderLock insists on advertising itself with a toolbar icon that would take our network admin all of two seconds to find (and he's terrible at his job). So, other than the inability to run it stealthily, it works great for me and the support has been responsive.

Branko Rakamaric I bought version 7.1.8 and this newest is 7.2.2. What would be upgrade price for me and what is new in newer version? Does it make sense for me to upgrade?

bvssunnydale FYI - When I purchased another copy and did the checkout, the on-line receipt showed I was being charged the full price of $39.95 BUT the printed receipt showed the (correct) $15.98. I logged into my bank to check and the correct amount of $15.98 appeared so I'm pretty it's only a reporting glitch, and that it's charging the correct amount.

Loco Driver Hi, I just purchased Folder Lock on the BDJ Special Offer. But you sent the order receipt to an old email address, and that provider is no longer in business. (It's not the same email address that's in my BitsDuJour profile).
How do I update the email address in your records and get a new copy of the receipt?
P.S. Merry Christmas to you all ! ! !

Constantin Florea @Loco Driver - We have just contacted the vendor as he will be able to better help with the issue you mention.

wts This is a positive followup to my Dec 23, 2013 highly critical report on this company.

I got tired of waiting for a response which never came, so I uninstalled the non-working Folder Lock during a cleanup frenzy a few days ago. Upon uninstallation, a browser page opened asking for the reason (this is a good practice that a number of companies use). I repeated my sad tale and left my email address.

The next day (!) I received an email from their customer support manager recommending installation of their latest version using my registration info from the purchase. When this didn't work I sent back an email with information that she requested. I received a quick response with new registration info. This worked! Of course.

She included the following note: "A single Folder Lock user-license is valid for only 1 (one) PC. In a nutshell, It will work on a single PC. Folder Lock switches to trial mode, under the following circumstances: If a user installs a new windows user license or an already registered Folder Lock key; he or she makes changes/upgrades the hardware on his/her PC e.g. new motherboard harddrive etc; logs in from another windows user account and sometimes even your anti-virus can prevent license registration, restricting communication with our servers."

None of those circumstances was relevant in my situation - I think there was a WMI issue on my computer that interfered with their licensing mechanism.

So if this rapid and positive response is now typical for New Softwares, then I withdraw my previous critical remarks about doing business with them. BTW Folder Lock is an excellent product, which is why I persisted so long.

H User I used Folder Lock to hide confidential information. Oops. I later purchased Acronis True Image backup software. When I looked at the Acronis image (stored on a USB device), the "locked" folders, and the files they contained, were fully visible. Caveat Emptor !!!
