Michael R. I bought iAidsoftDataRescue on a former BDJ-occasion and now (finally) had a problem with my 32GB digicam-card: No filesystem was discovered any more by my PC.

So I reinstalled the newest version of the software, started it and choose the RAW-RESCUE mode and it started and checked my card.

After about an hour Step1 (= Scanning the partitions) was done and it found over 2.000.000 files.

Unfortunately Step 2 (= Constructing a file list) never - after about 3 hours I stopped the process - came to an end. The showed 'Wait'-messagebox showed a (kind of) progressbar. But when the bar was filled completely green (100%), it just skipped back to an empty bar (0%), refilled it again, ; the same over and over.

Can you tell me what could have gone wrong? Should I just wait longer? Can it be that the file-list is too big or is tried to be saved on a certain place, which has not enough space?

Thanks a lot in advance...

john qin @Michael, the recovering process may take some time depending on the lost file size, here I recommend you contacting our support team, support@iaidsoft.com, they will come back to you with detailed explanation. Thanks.

Michael R. Thanks for the quick answer.

>>the recovering process may take some time

Ok, I'm some hours out of house now, so starting it and letting it work alone seems to be a good time. If that's really the reason, perhaps a real progress-bar might be a good idea. (Ok, perhaps also a little circle indicating the program did not crash too (with the functionality of the current progressbar)).

>> here I recommend you contacting our support team

Ok, I'll do that directly after the current try (with a longer run-time) does not succeed again.
...
Just contacted support. After 6h the same result. (Unfortunately I had to stop than, but I keep trying even longer...)

M Be Hi John from Vitarsoft,

what is with the Boot-CD Feature?
In May 12 you have said, that it will be finished within one month.

Where can I find the Release History of Data Rescue?

Thanks.

David Volle Does this program support 64Gb exFat SDXC cards?
Feb 22 at 2:46pm
john qin @M Be We delayed this feature improvement as our team think this feature may not be so important compared with other features such as increasing scanning efficiency. Here if we get lots of feedback that boot-cd is very needed, we will consider it.

john qin @David, Yes, it does. If any problems meeting, you can contact our support team. And we provide 30 days refund guarantee.

M Be The same to me ... "Constructing a file list" runs and will never end.
The bar refills again and again.
I have tried this in a clean Windows Installation in VBox (Guest System XP Home SP3).

Cary Adams @Michael, 2,000,000 files on a 16GB file would have an average file size of 16MB. That sounds small for a typical photo file (that also assumes your card was full... if it was half full, the average file size would be 8MB). Try PhotoRec (free).

Also... be sure not to restore/recover any files back onto the same card, so you don't overwrite other potentially reclaimable files on that card.

john qin @M Be Pls contact our support team, they will look at the issue carefully and solve it.

Michael Johnsson Humm, I not so sure I like to recommend usage of this software. In less then a minute with the trial version, I made a few discoveries. When you launch the program, The Overview tab is displayed. It gives you a short information about the tabs.

Trunk:
"Enjoy most popular sofeware"

O well, that can happen to anyone.

A "Deleted Rescue" scan is fast, and when done you can press the "Filter..." button

A thick box here says "Use Filte"

What files are listed now then. Well, it seems do do no more then any so called recovery software claims to do. Thats is to list files that are deleted. But it do not tell you if they are overwritten or damaged. This is what differs a worser software from the better one. With this software you can spend houers, days, weeks just to recover trash.

For now, I like to say, look for another program.
