CodeDog Just purchased this product based on the description above. Specifically the part that says "Leawo iTransfer lets you copy media files between your iOS devices and manage media without iTunes."

Installed the program and ran it, and it says it won't run without the latest iTunes and asks if I want to download it.

I bought this to be able to transfer files from a device to the PC without having to install iTunes, but I guess that's not going to happen. Can't use it...

lemonade soda I'd like to be able to transfer apps, not just media files. Will the next version include this feature? And would buying a license today give me access to that?

Thanks, Techto. I'm not an iTunes/iPad/iPod person, but once in a while someone asks me to help them get something off their device.

Saw this and thought it would be a handy thing to have based on the description and for the price. However, since I don't use iTunes and don't want it installed on my system, it does me no good.

Just thought I'd post to let everyone know the description is incorrect...

Tortuga I also looked into this app, always on the look out for something better than what I've been using. But, the fact it needs iTunes installed, is totally counter intuitive!!
I've been using SharePod for my iPod, do not have any other iStuff
It works really well, it's portable, so in fact you install *in the iPod*, (when in Hard Drive mode), so it's always there, ready wherever you need it ;)
It can add/remove music & vids from/to iPod, can also backup the whole library to PC, it works really well. Best of all it's free.
Important to note, it also imports metadata & embedded artwork
It has other functions, e.g. it can import to iTunes too, but know nothing abt it, do *not* use iTunes!
I tried *lotzzz* other apps b4, free/paid, but none is as friendly & easy to use

Toby Yang @CodeDog Sorry for your trouble. iTransfer does require iTunes. Because sending files to idevices needs some iTunes basic parts support. But you do not need to run iTunes at all, when iTransfer working. iTransfer will take much less computer resourse than iTunes. And that's why iTunes may freeze while iTranfer will never do.
Anyway we really wish iTransfer could be a helpful tool for you, and we are very sorry for inaccurate description.

iTransfer works for iBook on iPod Touch, iPhone and iPad. And we are planning to add function to transfer files from and into third party Apps.
BTW, apps transferring is already supported by this version at this moment.
