Easily Stream Your Media!

Even if you've never heard of DLNA, you're probably already equipped to take full advantage of it! DLNA stands for Digital Living Network Alliance, and it's a standard used by electronics makers to allow entertainment devices to share content across your home network. If you've got an Xbox 360, PS3, or any one of a number of newer HDTVs and Blu-ray players, you're all set to go!

The only thing you need to complete your DLNA paradise is Mezzmo!

Mezzmo is a DLNA media server that gives you the power to stream all your downloaded movies, TV shows, music and photos from your PC to your TV or games console. In fact, Mezzmo is so versatile, it's already compatible with over 6,000 DLNA-certified devices!

You'll find Mezzmo's simple and intuitive interface a pleasure to use whenever you want to indulge in your entertainment. Easy navigation, organized playlists, and more -- everything that you're used to on your computer, all on your big television screen!

When it comes to file formats, there's no need to worry -- Mezzmo can easily convert everything you throw at it, transcoding on the fly. Try doing that with your NAS drive!

Cheryl Rutherford I am a Mezzmo user and I LOVE THIS SOFTWARE.

First, I want to say that whenever I needed support, the Mezzmo support team got back to me very quickly! AND, they always solved the problem the first time. Every time, it was something my PC did, but it was resolved quickly. All updates were free with it, as well. But, it runs so perfectly now, you may not get any ;-)

Second, this software has served me well! It is installed on my PC 4 rooms away. My Samsung 8000 (DLNA) is synched to my PC. I can browse whatever I have placed in my library (a PC-connected USB 3GB external drive) on the PC, to my TV. So, when I want to watch an old movie in my library that resides on the PC-connected drive, I can bring it up on my Samsung TV (BTW: Samsung and all other smart TVs will recognize the Mezzmo thru its smart feature on setup or at a later time). Mezzmo is a server that allows you to access anything from your PC (media) you have set up to stream.

I spent months over a year ago (I purchased this Nov. 2011) testing DLNA server software from other vendors. Finally, I found Mezzmo. It was not only simple to set up, it was beautifully designed and easy to understand for a newbie like me. I threw the other software away and bought Mezzmo here from BitsDuJour.

I just cannot say enough about this software!

NOTE: like all DLNA server-type software, when streaming media from a PC to your player, YOU CANNOT FAST FORWARD OR REWIND. As the good folks as Mezzmo told me, until the firmware is changed for this type of software, none of them support those features. SO, you have to watch the commercials and everything else that play during your streaming movie or media.

Chris Irving Hi! I currently stream movies, etc. from my 3 NAS drives direct to my smart TV as they appear fine in the DLNA list. The only problem is that the TV menu structure is difficult for my wife to navigate. Will Mezzmo solve this problem for her, and will I have to map network drives to stream them from the NAS drives through my PC? My TV is an LG. Will Mezzmo recognise it? Please copy your response to my email. Regards Chris

Paul Schumann Hi Chris,

Mezzmo will help in your situation. Instead of just having a folder structure of your NAS drives listed on your TV, you can also create your own playlists in Mezzmo that (for example) contain the movies, TV shows, music and photos that your wife may be interested in. So she could navigate those playlists on your TV to find her favorite content to play. You can also have folder structures if you like that. You don't have to map your network drives (but you can if you like). As long as they are accessible to your PC that has Mezzmo installed, then Mezzmo will be able to access them & stream them to your TV using their UNC path (e.g. \\MyNAS\movies\brave.mkv). Mezzmo streams well to LG TVs. Give it a try and let us know if you have any questions or problems.

Chris Irving Fantastic! My tech-challenged wife (who is in hospital at the moment) will absolutely love Mezzmo! I can't wait to get my hands on it - and let my facebook friends know as well. Regards Chris

John Storrs Hi,
is Mezzmo just as happy to stream simply over wifi as it is with DLNA ? I have an Asus O!Play AIR HDP-R3 which works great but it lacks a program like Messmo to make playlists etc on the pc to stream to it - I have been using it simply to watch movies & listen to music via wifi.

WIll Mezzmo work with my media player and allow me to make playlists to send/stream to it ?

Johno.

Paul Schumann Hi John,

Mezzmo streams to any devices in your home using either Ethernet cable, Wifi, HomePlug/Powerline, MOCA, etc. So whatever device is connected to you home network, Mezzmo will be able to find it and stream to it as long as it supports DLNA. Most modern TVs, Blu-ray players, smartphones, tablets, home theaters & games consoles all include support for DLNA now.

Mezzmo will stream media files to your Asus O!Play media player. You can create yur own playlists in your Mezzmo library of all your videos, music and photos so that you can browse them on your O!Play and play them. Give it a try and see how you go. Any questions just ask.

John Storrs Hi Paul,
Thanks for getting back to me.

I have had a look through my Asus's media players manual, and though it doesnt mention DLNA, it does say it is a UPnP device, and speaks about how that Windows Media Player 11 or higher can stream media music etc. to it.
I dont like or use Windows Media player, but would love it if Mezzmo was able to fulfill this role - can Mezzmo essentially do the same thing or probably better than WIndows Media Player ?
I think your response has partially answered this but I thought it might help in your information/response to me if you knew that the manual doesnt mention DLNA but does mention UPnP.
Thanks,
Johno.

Paul Schumann Hi John,

Good question. Mezzmo also supports UPnP devices so it will be fine to stream to your Asus. The DLNA guidelines essentially sit over the top of the UPnP standards, so for Mezzmo to support DLNA it must also support UPnP as well. Hope it clears it up for you.

Lito I installed the trial onto my main machine and just wanted to confirm something, Mezzmo does not work with embedded subtitles inside a .mkv file? Also what about .mkv files with multiple audio tracks. I gave it a try but I couldn't switch between audio tracks. The subtitles didn't show but it might be because the embedded subtitle format is SSA. Which I don't think is supported yet and is being worked for your v3 release IIRC.

If I buy this today am I eligible for a free upgrade to v3 mentioned in your forum? As it is at the moment I don't really need Mezzo but would be willing to get it now for the expected v3 features.
Oct 18 2012 at 8:34am
Paul Schumann Hi Lito,

If your DLNA device supports playing MKV files, then Mezzmo just streams the MKV file natively to your device. Then, it is up to your device to display the embedded subtitles or not. Some devices do support displaying embedded subtitles, some do not. In Mezzmo v3.0, we will have subtitling settings that let you control how subtitles are delivered to your device (embedded, external or 'burnt' into the video). Mezzmo v3.0 is due for release later this year and will be a free upgrade for all registered users - including those people that buy Mezzmo from today's BDJ offer.
Conceiva Pty Ltd Vendor - Oct 18 2012 at 1:49pm
Lito Thanks for the reply and sold :), I have a patriot box office and a PS3 but only tested with the patriot box office. It does support mkv files and embedded subs and multi audio tracks, but it didn't find them in the mezzmo streamed data.

I'd rather have subtitles "burned" onto the transcode since the patriot box office doesn't respect subtitle location data and on some mkv files that makes things a mess.

Eagerly waiting for v3 :).

Paul Schumann Hi Lito,

Hope you enjoy streaming with Mezzmo. All registered users will be notified when Mezzmo v3.0 becomes available later this year.

Brad Perrault Hi Paul,

This is Brad, I was the person who tried to purchase Download Studio on Bits last week and could not make it happen using PayPal. Now I cannot make this purchase for Mezzmo. This time I have tried to make this sale using two different credit cards and bypassing PayPal all together. I have attempted the transactions in two different browsers, and submitted the orders to different email address for each order. Somehow I am still being declined by eSellerate.

I am unable to work on this tonight to try and resolve this, as I have commitments for the rest of the evening. I will contact you tomorrow via email and try and get this resolved, the responses from eSellerate have been quite unsatisfactory. I am just baffled eSellerate could not tell me what was happening last week and they did not respond back to me after I requested a follow up to see what their investigation uncovered if any regarding the purchase failures. Perhaps by working directly with your support department I can determine what is going on. This purchase I really would like to make happen. I am not upset just baffled as to what’s happening.

I have cleared my cache in my browsers prior to attempting the purchases. I have not had any other issues this week making e-commerce purchases using this same computer.

I am assuming you are not having issues with others attempting to purchase Mezzmo so it’s either something on my end or between eSellerate and me.

Thanks, Brad

Paul Schumann Hi Brad,

We have not had any other person with order problems today or in the past week. We do get a person every 6 months or so with order problems like you mention and after contacting eSellerate, it usually gets resolved quickly. For some reason I can only assume that eSellerate is blocking your purchase. No idea why. Please contact me via email (sales [at] conceiva [dot] com) with your details such as email addresses used, error messages or screenshot when purchasing error occurs, etc. I will contact eSellerate directly. If you cannot process your order today, then we'll look after you so you get the appropriate discount. Sorry for the frustrating experience - it is certainly not normal.

Sunil Kumar I have tried almost all the DLNA media servers. Most of them hardly work. I have tried mezzmo for past 1 month. I must say it is best one i found till now. I will definitely buy this when the deal is on. Any idea when the deal will be on again ? or any other promotion on this currently ?

Thanks
Sunny
