adrian williams I've had this program for years. You'll never use windows explorer again, split screen makes drag and drop so easy and pressing F9 gives an instant view/play of the file, text, video, image, mp3 etc.
Size manager shows where your big files are and synchroniser is a very useful tool too. You can run several copies simultaneously if you wish.
It can be a bit flaky in Vista, sometimes the program still resides in the running programs list and prevents it from starting up again. You can see it in task manager - kill it then it'll start OK.
At this price it's well worth the money

Keith Anderson That's right, JR. If you buy version 6 for $10, then have to do an upgrade for $20. That makes it $30, right? So, only 25% off. Not such a great deal.

Avanquest Software likes to sell old versions and not give free upgrades. I've been sucked in before by them. Lesson learned.

As far as the product, it's great. Well worth the $10. Just understand that it's not the latest which might be okay for most users.

Steve Young Keith, I think at $10 you can't go wrong here. Most companies will not give you a free upgrade when it's a completely new version. Typically, they'll give you a free upgrade when going from version 6 to 6.5 not to version 7.

I agree that minor version upgrades should be free. When I purchased Password Commander from Avanquest, in Jan 08, I expected to be able to do that. The version I received was 2.3 and the current one is 2.91. The license stated free minor upgrades. My emails go unanswered for a new regristration key for 2.91. Why was I given an old version for download when a new version was available? Now you see why I might be senstive about what version is being sold.

Tom Speziale So, Steve, please tell us when we get a hot offering on PD Pro 7. For now, I'll stick with PD Pro 6. The 25% discount for an upgrade doesn't quite do it for me.

Yes, please let us know if you offer a good price for a version 6 to 7 upgrade. I've had version 6 for almost three years now.

The only major problem I have with version 6 is that it takes FOREVER to refresh the file listing (after I delete a file for example) for a directory that has over 2000 files in it - the whole PD app locks up for almost a minute!

So, does version 7.0 fix this issue?

Jim Latimer Steve...PD 6 user from 2004 as an upgrade from PD 5 (Great program...wouldn't want my system to be without it)...is there an upgrade discount for those of us who have been loyal users?

Oldbunny Bunny I use PD since the very first was create I think in 1994.. and via over several new Ownership of this product I got to the max highest release as ver 5.0

Now I'm stuck.. and after I find the link to Avanquest Developer site and see the USD$39.99 I gave up looking for some substitute but I really Love and Edict to the PowerDesk.

Any chance to get as most Guys talkin for the say $10 downloading?
