If you've ever tried to program a form in HTML from scratch, you know that it can be time-consuming and tedious. Now, using technology developed by SeaGreen Software, there's no need to code web forms by hand ever again!

SeaGreen Software does all of the work for you - simply design your form and SeaGreen automatically creates the MySQL databases, and administration modules - without any programming - and it lets you publish forms to your website with just a few simple clicks. Handy wizards hold your hand and guide you through the process of integrating your form into your existing website. You can also use SeaGreen Software to produce standalone web forms on their own pages.

Once your web form is up and running, you'll receive email notifications every time someone enters information into your form. You can also send a copy to the person that filled in the form! And, as an added benefit, SeaGreen Software features Spam Control, assuring that the only data you receive will be good, clean, and valid!

With SeaGreen Software, you'll always have control over your data. Everything that is collected by your web form is stored in your own database, located on your own web server. SeaGreen Software even lets you design the database administration module that you'll use to query your database! And, of course, you'll always be able to sort your data and export it to a CSV format file for use in other applications.

Monique SeaGreen Developer Thanks for the question, E P!

Yes, you can choose either the Mac or PC version of the download. It is only the retail boxes that are not available for this promo price.

E P Thanks for the response Monique.
I'm also curious about the upgrade path. Your website mentions "If you buy SeaGreen today, you will automatically be upgraded to version 1.0.7 FREE of charge."
I guess that's a bit outdated since my trial version is 1.0.10
I have no time to really test the software for today's deal, and generally tend to avoid version 1 applications. From what I've seen and read I'm tempted to buy this one, but I'm curious about the upgrade policy.
Is version 2 coming out soon? Will there be an upgrade fee, and if so, how much will it cost?
Thanks in advance.

Michael Crosson I'm confused about the upgrade policy also. On the FAQ page, it states, "Buy SeaGreen once and get all feature upgrades and bug fixes for FREE! Support is also free via email and our user forums." I assume "feature" is supposed to be "future?" But then again, as pointed out above, at the top of the same page, it talks about a free update to 1.0.7. That implies future updates will not be free. Thanks in advance for clarifying this.

Monique SeaGreen Developer Our upgrades are always free to our customers - so yes, it's a lifetime license.

We just released version 1.0.10 and have yet to update our website. Thanks for pointing this out!

Michael R. I just tried your software (v1.0.10) out with my provider (one.com) offering PHP5 and MySQL, but - as it seems - only one database to be used. There seems to be no such a tool as cPanel or vDeck to be able to create new databases. But there is PHPMyAdmin to log in to administrate the one database.

So I used your software (demo) with this one database. And designing and publishing worked quite well, not at last because of your excellent video-tutorials. But when running the appropriate php-file I frist got an HTTP-Error 500 and after enabling PHP error messages I got the error-message 'Fatal error: seagreen: No such part in /customers/MY_SITE/MY_SITE/httpd.www/public/seagreen...sg/run.php on line 83' (with my site (something like abc.de) being replaced in this query with MY_SITE. Checking 'run.php', line #83 is '$path_info=$_SERVER['ORIG_PATH_INFO'];'.

The appropriate lines in the DataBase-lines (of module 5: Publish) Username/Password I filled with the same data I use to get into my database with 'phpmyadmin' and the field 'Database Name' is the name of the (only) database in there.

I already contacted my provider yesterday, but there seems to be no answer in time to get it before this offer is running out (~1,5h until then...).

Unfortunately I'm having no experience with PHP/mySQL yet, so I am stuck. But perhaps you know something about the reason of this error on the specified line. Is it because the server did not get access to the database? Or might be the restriction to one database by the provider a reason? (B.t.w. it's possible to use more than one form with a single database just by making sure to have no duplicate component-names, isn't it?)

Thanks a lot,

Michael

Michael R Concerning my comment some hours ago...

I unInstalled demo-version 1.0.10 and reinstalled 1.0.7, the original demo here (without updating) and loaded my old project again. Result: The exact same error message showed up again: (run.php, line #38) (see comment above).

Contacted provider one.com. Fast answer, but none, that really helped! Mainly, they said, I have to contact the software-distributor.

Unfortunately SeaGreen did not reply at all... Hope they do in time, so I can successfully test their product, before discount-time is running up...

Thanks,

Michael

Monique SeaGreen Developer Hello Michael R!

I'm sorry you're having issues. I'm sure we can figure it out for you.

However, rather than clog up this comments forum with your tech support issue, we'll contact you directly.

Once we have it figured out, we'll post a link to the solution.

Thanks!

Mitch K Does your form generation software support CAPTCHA? If so, is it just an option we turn on?

Michael R. Hello Monique Stover!

Thanks for your kind answer. This time I entered my EMail in the bitsdujour-form, so you can answer me directly.

In the meantime I've been told from my provider one.com, there is only a single database available. This does not conflict with having more than one form with seagreen, does it?

Thanks again,

Michael

Monique SeaGreen Developer Hello Mitch!

You should be able to manually code CAPTCHA in the Code Editor, but you would need to re-code it each time you re-designed your form in the SeaGreen layout step.

Or you can use the built-in "Match Validation" as a way to emulate the CAPTCHA functionality (it would look rather like the Bits du Jour form validation does).

Monique SeaGreen Developer To answer Michael's question - at this time, SeaGreen requires each form to have its own dedicated database.

However, we're considering changing that functionality if enough of our users/potential users request it!

So far, we have a few votes in favor:

Perry Mowbray I was reading about one persons errors and it seemed from the error that some of the scripts were hosted on seagreens servers.

Is there an option to host all the scipts on the user's webserver?

Monique SeaGreen Developer Perry:

What a great question!

One of the unique features of SeaGreen is that - unlike some form software companies which require you to host your database(s) on their servers - SeaGreen forms and their data are hosted on your own servers. All you need is a web host that supports PHP and MySQL.

It may have appeared that his forms were hosted on SeaGreen servers because SeaGreen creates a special directory on the hosting server called SG _code. Also, that particular person called the directory in which he published his form "seagreen" - perhaps to separate the SG form from his other site's files.

I hope that answers your question?

Michael R. Thanks Monique,

for your kind support here and by email to me.

Even if not solved yet in this short time, I wanted to say, I just purchased your software, not at last because of it's helphing support (and the vision to be able to use it also with a single database...)

Tom Sonaggera Hello,
I was sent the email notification to purchase this Software and did so via Paypal. The money was deducted from my bank account.

I have sent several emails asking for a Serial Number and have yet to receive one so I can unlock the program. I have been working on this since 11/24/09.

If I receive no answer to this email, I will contact Paypal and have my money refunded.

Why is this so difficult?

Monique SeaGreen Developer Hello Tom!

I'm sorry you've had a hard time getting your serial number sent to you. More than likely, the emails went to your spam bucket.

We responded to your first email on 11/24 with your license key. We also followed up with you via email on 12/3 to see if you had received it. We did not hear back from you.

Please give us a call at (877) 446-1550 x703 and we can give it to you over the phone.

I'm sorry for the inconvenience.
