Bruce Shinabarger What is the main difference between the free version and the paid version? I have been using the free version for some time..

Erik Piper Hello,

You can find a brief comparison here:

However I find that this chart gives short shrift to the Pro Edition, as one of the only-two Pro-only categories that it mentions covers a huge variety of editing tools, as well as for example selections: the Free Edition does not at all support selecting a part of a picture and editing only that part, while the Pro Edition does.

Chris Hello, Is this free or $34.99?

Under "The Fine Print" it says:

Upgrades to future versions of the software will require additional payment. Installing a new version may overwrite the existing version and invalidate your free license key.

Erik Piper Hello Chris,

This offer is for the Pro Edition at $34.99.

The download here is the trial version, which does run free for 30 days. (EDIT: Activating it with the code after purchase does make it run forever, of course.)

But it sounds like the fine print in question is BdJ's, so it is general enough that it covers some matters not related to this offer. To respond to the points you quoted:

- Installing a higher- or even lower-numbered version will not overwrite your existing version. Installing the same version again won't really do anything at all. For example you'll still have/not have a licensed version, as appropriate.

- This is not a free (100% off) offer, but a 50% off offer, so there is no free license key to invalidate.

J S Please excuse my ignorance but I have just walked in and noticed this DEAL (and dont's have the time to seriously investigate), but I was wondering:

Question: is ZPS only good for photo manipulation, OR, can it also be used as a "Paint Shop Pro/PaintBrush/Corel Painter" style program for other types of images?
Aug 22 2013 at 11:57pm Copy Link
Erik Piper Hello,

ZPS is mainly for photo manipulation. It has a few tools usable for painting, such as a paintbrush and line, symbol, and text drawing tools, but these are intended mainly for photo manipulation as well.
