Eddie Tex Either a USB or an option to install this on a secondary laptop system would be great.

As great of a tool as this appears to be, it would be a difficult purchase given the license restrictions.

Joachim Schwieren Yes, this is included, but in order to really make use of it, you need the desktop CMS feature which is only included in the Professional Edition. To sum it up: WA Standard is a powerful code-based Web editor and WA Professional is the same plus a very flexible project management feature with an integrated desktop CMS. Yves Ros Hello,

I live in France and I just made 4 succesive attempts to purchase via PayPal (in Euro as well as in USD) the discounted offers for :

- mirabyte Web Architect 9.5.4 Pro

- and mirabyte Feed Writer 2.

Yet, although the payment process seemed to be correctly completed, I finally did not get any PayPal confirmation for my succesive payments and, instead, I received 4 emails from Cleverbridge asking me to pay for my orders.

The Cleverbridge orders' reference numbers corresponding to my 4 attempts are : #26657101 and #26658398.

I also sent an email to myrabyte's support service about this problem, but I received no answer yet (Ah ! Sunday purchases !).

Mon concern is :

1 - to finally get the ordered softaware at the discounted offered prices;

2 - not to be charged 4 times for this purchase;

3 - to hear from you about a workaround which would allow a payement to be taken in account finally.

Yves Ros Thanks for your answer Joachim Schwieren.

Unfortunately, the German Cleverbridge service which deals with European customers' problems is available from Monday to Friday at Office hours and on Saturday morning.

But we are on Sunday so there is no chance to get in touch with them (please check : https://mirabyte.cleverbr...=cuseco&id=).

And the Bits du jour deal expires at 9.00 am Monday (CET) which leaves very little time and chances forsuccesfully contacting and obtaining an answer from Cleverbridge as their support services will start to be available at 8.00 am.

How do we solve this issue ?

nearly two years ago. What is your estimated release date for version 10? Does the license cover upgrade to a version released within a few months after purchase? Is the license posted online, or is it visible only during setup? (I am interested in confirming that the license allows use by a single user rather than installation on a single computer. I commute to work by bicycle, and transporting a laptop is not practical.) Thank you.

Ed Ward We purchased and have since come to depend on a program offered on BitsduJour several months ago called Website Realizer. Readers may want to consider and compare.

For our team (very limited programming skills), WR has proven incredibly flexible, powerful and user-friendly. Will post a more in-depth review when it returns to BDJ. Allowed us to build a "custom website" with all the bells and whistles in less than a week. While there is a learning curve, with an incredibly detailed manual (600+ pp.) and dozens of "how-to" videos, we were able to work through nearly every task ourselves. When we got stumped, the developer responded with answers, usually same day.

Peter B. Well, I can handle code a bit and this software looks promising to me. But I am not a die hard coder to the bone ;-), so is there anybody who can say anything usefull about this software in comparison with 'big boy' software: i.e. Dreamweaver, Visual Studio et cetera. Of course they are much more expensive than web architect, but would you recommend this WA9 software to people who are coding simple things in Joomla, Drupal and/or Wordpress php and html files? Which version. Basic or pro?

Joachim Schwieren Web Architect is a tool that mainly aims at professional users but it is also a very good choice for beginners, because you do not learn how to use a specific application but the actual Web technologies (e.g. HTML, CSS, etc.). The CMS feature of the Pro edition can even be used with almost no knowledge of Web development.
But if you want to build a serious Web page that does not look like million others and that fully matches your requirements, you DO need Web dev know-how and Web Architect is one of the best choices for this purpose...

If I prefer to edit the code without the CMS can I still use that grass template? The standard version can open it, even loosing the CMS power, and allow me to edit it by hand?

Joachim Schwieren Sure. It is an HTML page like any other. And with the Standard Edition you can edit any Web document, no matter on which technologie or language it is based on. That is one of the major benefits of Web Architect.

Does the standard version have any "project-specific" type of .ini file which opens links to all pages and files that have been added to the specific website?
For example, on your website the graphic shown to the right of the "Website Project Management" where a hierarchical list of pages and directories is shown: does the standard edition have any corresponding capability to open a "project"?
We are eager to do some testing on your eval version, thank you for bringing it to BDJ.

We recently tested a different website editor which keeps a default graphic path only for the editor, nothing on a per-project basis, causing a considerable repetitive navigation when dealing with multiple websites.

In other situation I would buy the pro version, but today I already spent too much money and I'll also buy another of today's BDJ specials.

Joachim Schwieren Web Architect is fully standards compliant and can use ANY HTML page as template for a CMS-based Website.

Pro and Standard cannot be installed on the same system. The free trial version is activated either as Pro or Std. The trial version has all features of the Pro edition.

Jim En Win7 x64. The eval installer has the option to install sample website projects; however, the link on the "Start Page" to "Open sample Website project" does not appear to do anything, there is no response from the application. Is there a path where this sample content can be found?

Jim En Ah, this might be the problem: on Win7 x64, On closing WA, a Program Compatibility Assistant window complains that this program requires flash.ocx, which is no longer included in this version of Windows.

Found it: The sample content is in fact in the Users\username\AppData\Roaming subdirectory.
