andy madden Really good description at BundlerBox.com. You could have listed the programs included in the bundle. You are starting to sound/act like scam artists and not the deal makers we have observed in the past. Information is everything.

Stuart Clarke Sorry, but this really isn't the kind of promotion you'd expect from Bits.

None of the software "bundled in" here has any kind of track record -- and, if you use the website link Bits has kindly provided, none of it is even downloadable as separate products to trial download. It's also nothing short of outrageous to "bundle in" VSO's free media player: does VSO even know its software is being flogged off in this way? (Saying it's "free" doesn't alter anything: what next for this promoter, the "bundling in" of VLC media player?? Or maybe IrfanView??)

As for the promoter's "user endorsement" in its singularly (and singular) "feedback" text, it's strange how that the photograph of "PC user Nick Keurig" pops up all over the Internet, most notably at the South African-based 'University of Forex and Gold" but also in a variety of other guises on a variety of other websites . . .

Reputable software developers don't stoop to "bundling" freeware into commercially sold packages, nor attempt to punt "products" of no known provenance -- retail or free -- at allegedly massive discounts. That's the sort of conduct you expect of scam sellers on eBay . . . though even they don't resort to taking generic images off the Web and sticking 'em on "endorsements" and claiming the feedback to be authentic.

Happy New year to Bits and all Bitsters. Seems best to let this particular promotion fade into deserved oblivion and then Bits can get back to being the great resource it always has been.

Mark Johnson Actually the descriptions on Bundlerbox are kind of misleading. Please review info linked below and expand on that with your own web searches on the products to see if the bundle is something useful for you.

CinEx HD is the 39.99 product from DVD-Ranger.
The actual product named DVD-Ranger includes Cinex HD, and sells for 69.99.
See http://www.cinexhd.com/purchase/
That makes it difficult to understand why the two are advertised as separate products in the same software bundle.

NOTE: Removing Cinavia (the main feature of the above products) causes variable amounts of damage to the audio.

NOTE: For the most popular use of the above product(s), you have to purchase additional software (AnyDVD HD). See the bolded Important! information on the above linked purchase page.

VSO PhotoDVD had its last feature and bug fix update October 7 of 2010; you might want to give it a try and compare it to other (free) software. Note that the 2010 release was version 4.0.0.37. There was a version 4.0.0.37d released in 2011 that had no changes except updates to language translations.
See http://www.vso-software.f...istory.php

Stellar Photo Recovery - I'll only comment to say there are a lot of free utilities to recover deleted files, and give two links to reviews:
http://download.cnet.com/...917-3.html
http://www.pcworld.com/ar...titor.html

Bonus software - free utilities from same company that makes the PhotoDVD software (VSO). I'm confused why software you can download for free is a 'bonus', but I guess it's also not illegal to advertise that the free air in a movie theater you paid to enter is a 'bonus'.

Bonus software - the free version of VSO Downloader. This is what you can download for free here: http://www.vso-software.f...loader.php
Note that there is also an 'Ultimate' version available for purchase.

Bonus software - a free media player that you can download here: http://www.vso-software.f...player.php

Stuart Clarke Nice work, Mark. Much appreciated.

This whole thing really is an amateurish exercise -- so amateurish that even the spelling lacks consistency: check out the website and it's "supportbundlebox.com" at top right, but "supportbundlerbox.com" at bottom left. Perhaps "blunderbox.com" would be more accurate.

As Bundlebox / Bundlerbox is the creation of "PopNet Media LLC", then PopNet Media LLC is responsible for the attempt to sell by fraudulent endorsements -- but isn't even bright enough to clean up the trail from its website to its source:

http://www.bestidc.net/testimonials/

As to what this "PopNet Media LLC" actually is, its owner, a Mr Ron Burin, explains all here:

http://www.blogengage.com...opnetmedia

I sincerely hope BDJ will keep well clear of Ron Burin, Mark Adraisan, Nick Keurig and John Smith, CEO and Founder of Okler --

http://switcher.oklerthemes.com/

-- in the future.

Scott Van Leeuwen This is not an exclusive offer. It is available at the same price from their own website, which may I ad offers a far better description of what the software includes.

Perhaps you are on holidays and have care taker staff, but you seem to have lost the edge in providing quality free software.

Stuart Clarke @ Scott: Kudos to BDJ for airing the above comments though. Mr Burin has hastened to correct the spelling on his bundlebox website and, now that the product "testimonials" published there have been exposed as lies, they've disappeared entirely. It'll be good if Mr Burin does, too: BDJ's reputation for integrity certainly doesn't need the likes of popnetmedia on these pages.

Peter Thompson I'm glad of the deals BitsDujour offer but its stuff like this that really makes me wish they did very selective deals and made sure that everything was right

PopNet Media Guys, the testimonials bit on the site was an oversight for sure on my part. My webmaster neglected to update that part and I do admit it was an amateur oversight. For me, putting this deal together was more about the bundle and the overall pricing and the extreme discount that it provided. No need to get on BDJ about this as I'll take the blunt for the on-site mistakes. I and the vendors in this bundle do thank everyone who took advantage of it as we know this really was a strong deal if you were in the market for any of these tools.

The best part of listing on BDJ is that is shows you how you can improve and do better going forward. I apologize for any confusion.

Stuart Clarke Hard to see how any "confusion" could have arisen over the deliberate placing of fake testimonials pulled off of a Wordpress template to publicise a consolidation deal done with a particular software publisher and touted on the 'Net at $10 commission per $34 sale. No-one objects to a third party setting up as a broker to try to place product and no-one is blaming BDJ, either. What is objectionable is the pretence that this has all been a learning curve from which "improvements" can be made and "mistakes" rectified: no-one needs to "learn" how to tell the truth; the mistake was in being found out.
