Android Book/Magazine App Maker Bundle Development Tools

Javier Gil The website doesn't provide much info: how exactly does it handle images? not a single word! Apparently, it only coverts text, but if you want to add images to the book, what happens???
screen shots? they only show text!
Not such a great deal either: the book maker, which is really the one application most people would want, is not being discounted: they're giving you the magazine maker for free in the "deal", which is supposed to cost the same.
It's like if someone offered you Windows 8 for its RRP and then some program which you didn't really need but cost the same in the same package and then told you that you were getting the whole deal for a 50% discount...

Preston Mitchell OUTSTANDING SOFTWARE -- Android Book & Magazine Maker

I purchased this software bundle a couple of months ago. I paid the full 'retail' price and feel it was worth every penny. But I would agree that the developer's web site does a poor job of explaining its software and doesn't offer very good tutorials. So, please let me provide some insights in following comments.

Preston Mitchell About Andrioid App Book Maker

Android App Book Maker creates a traditional text-oriented Kindle-style eBook. Most the of the text creation is done within the program...though cut & paste from Notepad or Wordpad works fine. You can add a nice book cover but use of images is otherwise very limited. Ads can be incorporated into the finished android app.

BookMaker, in my opinion, is more geared toward traditional literary works, such as short stories, novels, and etc, that don't typically incorporate multimedia (graphics, photos, etc).

I tested my finished book app in several Motorola, HTC, & Samsung smartphones (all ATT). The book apps loaded quickly and worked perfectly.

Magazine Maker is the most useful software in the bundle for internet advertisers, marketers, and promoters. That is true because one can incorporate graphics and images into the finished android app to create a rich multimedia presentation.

Basically, Magazine Maker just converts a PDF into an android app. So, Mag Maker is really format conversion software. Content creation is done elsewhere.

Essentially, whatever I can create as an Acrobat X PDF can become a finished android app by using Magazine Maker (EXCEPT FOR elaborate PDFs containing video, animation, 3D modeling, flash etc).

My company uses Magazine Maker to transform digital documents--brochures, catalogs, etc--into android apps. For that purpose, Magazine Maker is outstanding.

The finished magazine app is reliable and highly compatible with all smartphones that we tested it on.

Preston Mitchell About the Developer A-PDF

Although the software's web site suggests that the vendor is a company named AppMk, the actual developer is A-PDF, which is one the oldest and most reliable Chinese developers. A-PDF started by creating 'enhancement' software offering features that early version of Acrobat lacked. (By Acrobat v9, A-PDF PDF software grew less relevant.)

In recent years, A-PDF made a big push into software that allowed easy creation of 'flipbook' style digital documents. That software has been offered on Bits under various subsidiary names, such as FlipBuilder, Boxoft, and others.

A-PDF does strive to make quality software and does offer pretty good customer support.

Unfortunately, A-PDF suffers from poor 'English' skills. Their marketing materials and tutorials are poorly written. You won't get much help from their Help documentation...but fortunately, their software is intuitive and can be figured out easily.

Both Android BookMaker and Magazine Maker produce apps that can be listed on the Android Market. See examples on Android Market at https://market.android.co...JDIHBHMEBJ (those were produced by BookMaker).

Of course, your content is the decisive consideration. Appmk software merely builds a solid vessel with which to display your content as an android app. So, if your content doesn't meet the Android Market's standards, your app won't get listed there.

Nuno Regnow doesn't accept virtual credit cards, a pity, lost quite some time deciding if I would buy this, and when I'm going to buy the card is declined.

Nuno My credit cards are maxed out from so many purchases, and my Paypal account is tied to my credit cards (bank funding would take more than 24h) so Paypal wasn't an option, I had to skip the deal...
