Mike Krueger When I go to the Aurora website the regular price is 39.95 not 49.95 as you have listed here. So there is no advantage to buying it from BitsDuJour? Now if you give 20% off of the 39.95 price listed on their website that would be worth it. Thx

Constantin Florea @Mike Krueger, We actually have the same deal.

I went to the product website and clicked on the Buy Now buttons for both Windows and Mac and noticed that the regular price is $49.95 for both versions. The regular price (of $49.95) as well as the discounted price (of $39.95) appears in the shopping cart after clicking on the Buy Now buttons.

Mike Krueger Thx for the quick reply. Yes, it appears they are the same now...I would have sworn that earlier the webpages were different than they are now. Hmmm...so it appears the deal is the same from Aurora or from BitsDuJour.

Sandra Chung I would be careful regarding Aurora. Even though it does work, this program keeps making unwanted Windows system changes. I have AutoPlay for all media set to TAKE NO ACTION. But every time I start Aurora, it changes that to auto open BluRay/DVD/Video Discs. I have gone into the autoplay menu, and have manually selected TAKE NO ACTION, then saved. Launch Aurora, and it overwrites those settings.

There is nothing in the Aurora preferences that prevent it from being chosen as default, and it keeps changing Windows Autoplay settings.

I have been sending messages to them about this, but have yet to get even one reply. I think they know of this, but can’t or won’t do anything about it.

Steve Jordi Mac users be aware that it DOES NOT work with macOS Catalina.
All users, be aware that they DON'T respond to questions. Support is non-existent.

Arthur So this doesn't work past 10.8? I'm stubbornly still at 10.12.6.

Peter User I can confirm that Aurora does work with macOS 10.14*; I just tested the most current build. I had a copy installed from several years back, when I was testing several Mac Blu-Ray player apps trying to find something with an interface that didn't just strip out all the graphics/buttons and present you with a list of tracks with times, but no titles/descriptions.

However, I can also confirm that the current build (2.19.4) was released in January 2019, the same as the copy I already had installed. Looks like Aurora Mac is effectively abandonware.

macOS 10.14/Mojave is the last OS which will run 32-bit applications; System Report confirms that Aurora's current build is still 32-bit, about six years after Apple told Mac developers to get their act together. If your machine is too new to run Mojave or you're otherwise prevented from using an OS that old, you can install most versions of macOS from 10.11/El Capitan onwards as a virtualized environment using middleware like Parallels, VMWare or the freeware Oracle VirtualBox. Once you've installed the middleware and created the 32-bit virtualized macOS environment within it, you can run 32-bit Mac applications within that virtualized environment.

Aurora does present you with a graphic interface similar to a standalone player, but neither Aurora nor the solution I settled on (Macgo Blu-Ray Player Pro) have the basic feature of Apple's DVDPlayer - a scan function. A big ol' fail on the various application developers' part, IMHO.
