Catherine McClarey Ignorant question: I already use the free version of Any Video Converter -- is Any Video Editor from the same publisher?
Also, if I were to install Any Video Editor, would I need to keep a separate installation of Any Video Converter as well, or could I just import my newly-created videos to Any Video Editor and convert them to the desired format there, whether they also needed editing or not?

David Brumley I want to edit mp4 videos without re-encoding...is that possible with this software?

Michael R. If I just use the cut/merge-tools, which formats can AnyVideoEditor natively, i.e. without re-encoding?

How error-tolerant is it, concerning the input-file?

umike Sent a pre-sale question to its support and there is no reply after 24 hours. Even its support page http://www.avclabs.com/support/ is down. Reconsider buying this software.

John H Would like to know if this will edit MP4. I went to your website and though the graphic shows MP4, you do not specifically state that it will import and directly edit MP4 videos.

Thank You

Bill Amon @umike

It's a weekend - not everyone works at the weekend. And their support page is not down, you simply entered the wrong URL:

http://www.avclabs.com/support.php

I'm all for calling attention to poor customer service and dodgy websites, but your expectations on a Sunday are unrealistic.

Louis H I will disagree with you, Bill, about a vendor being around on a Sunday when that Vendor's program is the discount deal of the day. It does not mean the vendor is not around the rest of the time, but it does make it more unlikely that I will make a purchase.

Some of the unanswered questions date back to early Friday morning (based on the time showing on my screen and I do note that I am in the Eastern US.) So it is not simply the absence of the vendor on a Sunday.

The Vendor make have had something unexpected come up in his life, and this may be why there are no answers. If so, then what would be nice is if BDJ and the Vendor would agree to offer this one again in a short period of time once the vendor is able to be back and answer questions.

All of the above to the side, however, does anyone have more actual feedback of using the program? I know that I am free to download a trial, but I am leery of doing so and thus cluttering up my registry, unless I can have a better sense of whether or not the program is going to do what I would need or want it to do. Clarification of the mp4 question would go a long way towards making it worth installing the trial version.

umike @Bill Amon

Thanks Bill for telling me the actual URL to their support page. The auto email reply from their site that refer me to the wrong url "http://www.avclabs.com/support/".

Perhaps I should not expect any support during the weekends. But I am eager to clarify my question before this deal closes on Sunday.

Why put this deal in a weekend when no one is supporting? I totally agree with Louis H.

Anvsoft Support Hi Louis H,
Thanks for your precious advices!! I have to admit that you are making a point that i agree with. Though i would typically follow up deals whenever it is Saturday or Sunday... I just regard it as my duty. But things were different recently because i spent the days with my family without an in-time follow up of my deal. I am really sorry that your guys did not get ideal answers for your questions, i really should have checked the deal yesterday. Apologize for my carelessness, won't happen again. Even if i can not follow up, i will ask our support to help me in the future. So, please have a little faith in us. We will do better with your kind help!!!
Thanks!

Louis H Thank you, Yalita! I appreciate your input and responses.

I would not expect a small company to have 24 7 support. Your website does make the pledge that you will respond within 48 hours for any questions. You have a per user license set up. And you did check in here on BDJ. All of this (plus more) adds up to my willingness to support your company and purchase a license today.

Right now I am not sure to what extent I will actually use the program, but I like to have many options in my toolbox. Sometimes I pull out the big guns for a project, but sometimes a project is better served with a program such as yours. I like having the option.

So thank you for letting folks know you are there and that you are committed to being available for your customers.

I'm ordering now!

Anvsoft Support Hi Catherine,
Yes, it is from the same publisher.
Any Video Converter and Any Video Editor are two separated programs. You can install both of them for editing and converting.
They both can convert video to your desired formats.

Anvsoft Support Hi David,
1. No. You have to convert it for saving. However, you can select MP4 as the output format.

2. Please reinstall the program and while in the installation process please select installing K-lite codec. After installing, please try to add the videos again.

Anvsoft Support Besides, @David
If this still doesn't succeed, please use our Free Any Video Converter from http://www.any-video-conv...ideo_free/ to convert your video file into ASF, WMV or AVI(Xvid+mp3) at first and then try it again.

Anvsoft Support Hi John,
Yes, it will edit MP4. If the MP4 video cannot be imported into the program, please use any video converter to convert it to other format.

Yes, you can use Any Video Converter or Any Video Editor to remove the commercials by clipping the video.

Rick Truell Michael Paul: If *all* you want to do is edit out commercials from the movies/shows you capture, you might want to check out the free avidemux ( http://avidemux.sourceforge.net/ ) as well. It's easy to use and, with mpeg2 files anyway (which is the format that most tuner cards encode to), doesn't re-encode the file when it saves the edited version...which means even a multi-hour movie/show only takes a few minutes to save. I use it all the time to edit out unwanted material from recorded movies and tv shows and it works great.

John Terdik When editing can I filter out something, example any silence greater than 1/4 of a second I want removed. I'm editing movies of slide presentations and I want to remove any silence. Also if there is some outside noise such as a fan can I filter that out?

Anvsoft Support Hi John Terdik,
You can filter noise with this software, also adding special sounds would be realizable. But as you mentioned "greater than 1/4 of a second" , do you mean if the software can tell silence is greater than 1/4 of a second or not?

John Terdik "greater than 1/4 of a second" , do you mean if the software can tell silence is greater than 1/4 of a second or not?

Yes, I want the software to detect any thing in the recording and automatically delete the audio and video. I'm attempting to reduce the size of slide presentations. When the speaker is not speaking I don't want the audio or the video for that section.

Anvsoft Support Sorry John Terdik,
I confirmed with our support that turns out that our software is not that high-end. We can not do it currently. Really sorry abut it. I will tell our research team to consider an add in the future versions. Thanks!
