Michael R. Does the 1-year offer start with the date of purchase or date of installation/key-activation?
Oct 28 2013 at 3:46am Copy Link
Greg Lander The one year key starts when you activate key. You can activate the key whenever you wish.

However keep in mind the 1 year coupon will expire when Bitsdujour offer ends.

Sam Ive Can the Bolt Revolt Anti-Malware co-exist with an anti-virus SW such as McAfee/Norton etc ?
Oct 28 2013 at 8:41am Copy Link
Jann Martin In the fine print, I see this: "Each license allows installation on a single computer and a laptop" but just for clarification I need to ask, so is this really a 2 system license, one for desktop computer and one for laptop?
Oct 28 2013 at 8:41am Copy Link
Greg Lander Sam - Yes, Bot Revolt is compatible with the majority of Anti-viruses Including the ones you mention.

Jann- Bot Revolt checks a devices registry to verify license. Therefore each key is only for one device.

Jann Martin Thank you, Greg, then perhaps the language in the Fine Print should read differently, changing it to "or" a laptop, instead of "and" a laptop would make it less confusing.

DiggerP @ Greg Lander,
Quote " Therefore each key is only for one device."
The descriotion on the BDJ page - The Fine Print ,says
Each license allows installation on a single computer AND a laptop.
(Capitalisation is mine)

If one is to follow your description , it should say OR ,not AND (a laptop)

Also , your subscription prices are somewhat baffling:
2 full consecutive 6 month subscription would cost $60 (forget about the cents.
But a 1 year subscription is $47.

At any rate, kinda steep for only a 2 way Firewall and only for 1 computer.
Others offer AV and 2-way firewall for less or even the same ,but will cover at least 3 computers.

Norwel Gordon I have tried over and over but have been unable to purchase the 1 year $9.99
deal WITHOUT Face Book.

After answering your questions I seem to only get the 6 month free offer.

Please let me know how to get the $9.99 deal Without Face Book.

Thank you

Greg Lander Peter,

Thanks for your response. Bot Revolt is different because we constantly manage our ip block-list. Each Bot Revolt users gets unlimited protection from dangerous ip ranges we are able to identify fast (sometime same day.)

Although there are open-source firewalls and ip blockers available. Bot Revolt delivers value in its Ip block-lists.

Greg Lander Thanks for the question.

Bot Revolt is built off of the same foundation of Peer Block, which is an improvement of peer guardian.

Overall Bot Revolt is designed for users who want a solution they simple install and gives full protection 24/7. Our staff monitors Bot Revolt's ip list daily for our users.

Other solutions require you to manage your own lists, we do all of the work for you. Paying members also have unlimited access to threat protection updates and software improvements :)

Added improvements and added security include:

-New crash agent protects your Bot Revolt from attacks and crashes
-UI (the major change)
-Run on system startup under Win64
-Multi-platform installer (including Windows XP compatibility)
-List manager extension

We have also included very fast layer that is known as ATL, changed some code that makes string conversion and replaced it by system routines; all of these make running Bot Revolt more efficiently on new platforms such as Windows 7/8.

Alex Ruiz After several times that I've tried to instal the program I bought I keep getting the following message: The application has failed to start because its side-by-side configuration is incorrect. Please see the application event log or use the command-line sxstrace.exe tool for more detail. I am not sure how to proceed in order to install the program, Please advise

Matt Christer This Software is Awesome. They have ip lists not found on open sourced programs. The crash agent is also Aweosme!

Highly Recommend!!

Tazzie @ Greg Lander: I've seen you repeatedly compare Bot Revolt to open source solutions, but not other popular paid commercial anti-malware software. I see Bot Revolt's ip lists compared to open-sourced programs .... what about popular paid commercial programs??? That comparison would be the "litmus" test for Bot Revolt, not a comparison to just open source programs.
Oct 28 2013 at 5:49pm Copy Link
Greg Lander Tazzie Thanks for the question.

We recommend to run Bot Revolt alongside your current antivirus. I use malware bytes & Microsoft essentials. Here is a link to a e-book containing 5 free downloads we recommend to make your pc safer -

To answer your question: Bot Revolt (and open source alternatives) provide a unique function compared to anti-viruses and anti-malware programs. Most anti-virus and anti-malware programs run scans on your system and look for pre-defined virus definitions. If a definition is discovered, it is quarantined/removed.

However Bot Revolt monitors all ip ranges your computer receives packets from and sends packets to. Therefore if your computer is attempting to receive packets from a malicious server or host Bot Revolt will prevent communication.

Also if your computer has a virus, which your anti-virus missed, and is attempting to send your information out to an ip address we identify as bad Bot Revolt will stop packets from going out.

Mounir looks like Bot Revolt blocks Avast's communications! False positive?
Oct 29 2013 at 7:48am Copy Link
Greg Lander Mounir,

Thanks for your question.

1. Be sure the Avast ip is actually Avast ip range. Just because the ip range is called Avast does NOT guarantee it is. Hackers can name servers whatever they choose. A good way to check is to copy paste search the ip here:

2. If you are positive the ip is safe, simply right click on the ip and select “allow permanently”
