Please note folks, today's 100% off promotion is for the Lite version of GTD Timer 2015. The Lite version is limited to 5 presets.

There's the Getting Things Done (GTD) approach to productivity. There's also an entire universe of software-based countdown timers. But did you know that only ONE software application successfully bridges the gap between these two worlds? Introducing GTD Timer 2015!

Boasting an intuitive and clean interface, GTD Timer 2015 implements the GTD two-minute rule, although you can configure it to countdown to any period of time, or any time of day. What's the two minute rule? If a task can be done in two minutes or less, do it now! Budgeting your time this way gives you just as many benefits as budgeting money -- just decide how much time you're willing to spend on any particular task, set GTD Timer 2015 accordingly, and get going!

GTD Timer 2015 has a host of configurable options, making it the perfect fit for everyone. You can show the countdown in the system tray, as well as in a window. You can run multiple instances, for creating GTD tasks within GTD tasks! And when the countdown reaches zero, you can configure GTD Timer 2015 to play a sound, display a message (TAKE DINNER OUT OF THE OVEN), or run a command (open your email program, for example). The flexibility is amazing -- you can pause, stop, or restart your countdown at any time, plus let GTD Timer 2015 go into overtime, automatically restart, or quit completely!

Trying to decide which version of GTD Timer 2015 (Lite, Home, Pro, Ultimate) is right for you? Check out the feature comparison matrix and make an informed decision!

nylg The MSI Installer download that you are directed to in the email you receive after making a 'purchase' (free Lite version), then this apparently includes a nasty virus.

Similarly, if you download the zip - portable version directly from the author's website, then this too contains the same nasty virus.

I could be wrong, but Microsoft Security Essentials says there is a virus. This becomes immediately apparent as soon as you unzip the folder.

This is what Microsoft Security Essentials reports for both the installer package and the zip one:

Alert level: Severe

On cleaning this, then in both package types the main executable no longer exists.

Please could the developer respond on this issue by looking into this and then maybe reassuring people that the package(s) are safe to install.

Pequi Smith 3 hits on Virustotal. Trojan.PWS.Banker1.19541 is one of them. There must be some code in there that connects out and sends your data. What it's doing on a "Timer" ? I'll skip this one.

Vyacheslav Koldovskyy Hello, let me assure you that there are no possibility that any trojan or virus has been added intentionally. But to be sure that the distribution server is not infected too I've downloaded files from official website and compared them to installs that were created by me, they are identical. Also I checked both of them with Windows Defender with latest update - and indeed it triggers on executable file, check with virustotal produces 2 hits. I believe that's it is false positive because all other antiviruses reports that its clear.

nylg Hi Vyacheslav

Thank you for checking this out and your reply to our concerns. It is very much appreciated.

I am afraid it is too risky for me.

Some download supply servers nowadays seem to not be protected too well.

Gone are the days when you could just download something via the Internet and find it to be perfectly OK.

I check all of my stuff 'manually' even if my various anti-malware (microsoft security essentials and malwarebytes) is supposed to be monitoring automatically in the background.

I am currently running your older version that was on BDJ about two years ago and I really find it useful. I particularly like how you can cascade two timers together i.e. a warning comes up and then a final time counts down.

I will stick with that version so long as it continues to work on Windows 7. I rechecked the version I am currently using and it checks out fine.

Have you substantially altered the code very much in the version currently on offer at BDJ?

I am just wondering, if say a major change to the code, would cause some virus checkers etc to flag a false positive because of substantially new code within your program.

Two things you can try.
1) Submit your programs to the AV companies that flag them as malware (and have done so at least since last November).
2) Alter your code so there is no way it can "phone home" to check for updates or for any other reason.

A link to your homepage/changelog in the help file is far more acceptable.
False positives can really damage a software business, and most AV vendors won't verify or update their whitelists unless you insist.

FreshAsADaisy As a happy user of on older version of GTD Timer, I heartily second the suggestion of @Pequi Smith. You can -- and should -- submit the files to one of the big AV companies.
