- “nice to see & learn backbone @udemyhope you'll continue adding tuts with this stackthanks”- Greg Milby
- “I've been using many of the jQuery methods described through the firs six lectures in my own projects, but in an ad-hoc fashion, with an ever longer main.js file, that held single purpose functions, invoked as needed, but nothing like the rigor and organization that Backbone enforces. This lecture series is helping me understand the relationship with the server, and how to get from A to B quickly.”- Trevor Pierce
- “This course was a great overview of backbone js and bootstrap css. I liked the introduction where there was a high-level architectural explanation of what was going on. Jon is very articulate and made sure he was explaining everything he was doing step by step. I like the fact that he built this little application piece by piece . I'm an older programmer from traditional client server era (think java/.net) so this course was just what I needed to get my feet wet with this programming framework/paradigm.My only issue was from a video production standpoint (not the content itself). The keystrokes displayed at the bottom of the screen was a bit distracting to me. It would be nice to reduce this section's real estate and push them to the bottom right or some other non-intrusive place where those who are interested can find it.Overall a well structured course with an articulate teacher. Highly recommend. I would buy other material from Jon.”- IWD
- “The course says Advanced JavaScript using BackboneJS. But the auther doesnt use backbone routes, model to store stuff. Rather he uses Sinatra-Ruby.So this course is only for advanced Ruby users who want to learn How to use sinatra with backbonejs. This course does NOT teach how to use backbonejs. This is not for learning backbonejs. This is very good course only if you have MAC OSX and you know Ruby.”- Ajinkya Borade
- “It does not talk about Bootstrap, it just uses it in the application without any explanation. It builds the application from the top down, now i undeerstand i should create my router first, those are my controllers, and then everything else. Also, the final source code it doesn't show the views correctly.I leaned a lot about views tough.”- Eduardo Cancino
- “I really liked learning the Backbone.js using the sample project. It has help me to better understand the development process. I also learned a bit about Mondo DB, Bootstrap, and Ruby.My only gripes are that at times the instructor moved along too fast and I did not like the overlay's of his keystrokes in the presentation. Those keystroke overlays got in the way and made it difficult to see what he had actually typed in the editor or when using the wed development tool in Chrome. One last thing was the instructions for the install of ruby were a bit thin. I am using Mountain Lion so I had to download Xcode and rmv to get around some the complexity of the ruby install. Ultimately, I was able to figure it all out.”- AJ Speller
