Damir Bulic Hi John, sorry, we don't plan to give away lifetime upgrades for peanuts. As we are giving such a huge discount, at least give us a chance to earn something from renewals :) Damir

Jeremiah Stover I submitted a bug report ( supportspectralcore.com ) several days ago and when I go to check on the ticket status it reads  Submitted 5 days ago Awaiting assignment to a help desk operator.    If you are planning on syncing a local copy of MySQL against a remote copy of MySQL be warned, this product has at least one fairly major bug. It does not properly track the schema structures, so at least if the schema has changed you will run into sync problems. In the products favor, if you keep your sync to a 'push' format - I have not seen it delete any data from the originating instance. The problem becomes apparent if your database changes structure. For example, if you upgrade a Drupal module to a new revision it will often add new fields or slightly modify existing ones. This process is failing on multiple tables. I find it hard to believe that the problem has to do with MySQL because phpmyadmin running with the exact same MySQL user account and thus the exact same rights is able to display the schema correctly. The product failed to detect 6 new fields in my local table (while on the schema sync page) and thus did not sync them (note that it did list all the fields in the data syn c  ->  tables selection screen). Do note that if you can grant access to the system table  proc it may work, however unless you run your own server this is unlikely to be an option. (and even if you do, do you really want this tool messing around in the MySQL system tables and risk having to rebuild the entire database?). Also note that when this product cannot gain access to the proc table it pops up a warning dialog, the dialog is application modal (nothing more can happen in the application until you reply to the pop up). At least on my system the dialog box's window placement is behind the application window - which requires you to alt+tab to it before you can click the [ok] button. If you do not know to do this - it appears that the application has frozen. This is a small issue but one that does not inspire confidence. I bought the tool to automate part of my workflow - for now I am stuck processing development to production database sync by hand as this tool is not working. My trust level is suffering, especially with not hearing back from them on my support request. I am very very glad I did not purchase this product at full price. If you need to sync databases at this point in time I would recommend that you keep looking for a quality product as this one can give a false assurance of data and schema replication which can cause anything from mild embarrassment to system outages. If you find another solution I would be happy to hear about it.

Damir Bulic Hi Jeremiah, we use ZenDesk (generally a very good online helpdesk). For some reason it was confused with your ticket, marking is as a part of a very old ticket. You should hear from us soon regarding your issue. Damir

Damir Bulic I have to reply to your comment on the "low quality" of Omega Sync. This is simply not the case. As Omega Sync covers many database types and auto-adapts the optimal metadata and data retrieval based on database versions - there are many possible configurations. We do not rely on middleware libraries so we have complete control over all aspects of our application's behavior. That said - we could not reproduce your non-detection of certain fields. I suggest that you continue this conversation with the developer assigned to your support ticket so we can reproduce and resolve the issues as soon as possible. I would also not be happy if vendor doesn't reply for 5 days, but would certainly use any other means of contacting before discrediting them on the web. Besides support email, we have live chat and direct phone number on our website. Not many vendors provide that. The very fact we have free support says something about our confidence that our applications are of high quality. Damir

Roger Thomasson Please folks, let's keep this board clear for questions.  User-specific tech-support issues should be addressed via the developer's support channels. Thanks! -roger
