Software Guy Without s doubt, this is my favored photo batch editing software program. My recommendation is to purchase the Perfectly Clear extension which adds another $50 but is well worth it. PhotoPerfect with Perfectly Clear does the best job of batch optimizitation of all photoeditors. Now, one might argue that it is possible to set up other batch photoeditors to optimize with a macro history that you have carefully tweaked just for your camera - but taking this route is quite a bit of work. IMHO Photoperfect plus Perfectly Clear always does a good job on all the photos in the folder with just a few clicks.
If you work with photos frequently or just love to take pictures then this editor is a must have. If you are a pro-sumer I recommend that you get it if you don't already have it. If you just want to optimize lots of photos fast then this is the way to go.

Frank Stephens Software Guy, you're obviously enthusiastic about PhotoPerfect, but my recommendation is neutral. PhotoPerfect Basic will be too basic for most users, and I feel that the price is very misleading, as getting the fully functional versions of the main features is very expensive. There's no real difference between the BDJ discount and buying a bundle. I have all of the "extensions" except MonochromiX. In today's market, I consider it overpriced, not only compared to the competition, but because it's very buggy, and there's no excuse for the lack of full 48-bit support throughout. There are a lot of features, although not all work or not all the time. It's been over a year since the last version. Different people have different needs, I almost never find PerfectlyClear useful, I use I2E (full version) the most. It's definitely not a prosumer product, I usually use multiple products on pictures. In addition to some of the products you've mentioned earlier, The Plugin Site offers numerous prosumer-level products, available as standalones, plugins, or both. Lightroom is relatively inexpensive now, RawTherapee and paint.net (numerous plugins) are free, there's ACDSee Pro 5, CyberLink PhotoDirector 3, Corel AfterShot Pro and PaintShop Pro X4, and many others.

Software Guy Frank, I appreciate your comments and tend to agree with them, especially about the price - the bundle is almost the same price as on BDJ today. But on the other hand, Photoperfect offers quick and very easy batch optimization of most basic adjustments. So one touch to that folder of pictures and they are all adjusted for brightness, color, contrast. I consider it invaluable for use with point and shoots and even better cameras. My favorite is the perfectly clear but my coworker prefers i2e as you do. Once optimized then you can get down to the fine adjustments and individual cropping and so forth as needed.
The easy optimization to me is most valuable, and it beats a batch macro from other editors almost every time. And I will also agree that other editors are quite good and even excel at individual photo editing. My personal preference are those with before and after panels and almost all adjustments on one page (menuless or tabless editing) like the old Bibble, now called adobe aftershot pro, or the bargain focus photoeditor. For box names there is serif photoplus which is improving, and zoner offers a good alternative solution in their free and pro editors.
So my enthusiasm comes from the fact that it seems to offer the best automatic batch optimization currently available, plus a full set of editing features. But there can be no doubt the price is high, and relatively few filters are available - but as my coworker says, you only need the one that works..
Athenatech has been promising a standalone version of perfectly clear with batch but the product is still in beta. So, it is still my recommendation for most users as the best batch automatic photooptimizer. And batch and automatic is what most users want because most of us do not have time to edit and optimize all of our pictures. Photomizer is an economy alternative. I just hope that the competition picks up on the batch optimization concept as an evolving consumer driven product. And Arcadia might want to consider a few more creative and slightly different plug in filters.

Bob Oakland Just would like to add to Frank Stephens, that the only difference between the basic version and the other ones are just the automatic extensions. Other than that the basic version contains all (advanced) editing functions. Thus I don't share the opinion that it "will be too basic for most users". On contrary it offers IMO even too much functions for most users. You should try out the batch processing function? IMO it's awesome and let you fine tune a lot with tons of parameters. If one is somewhat familiar to scripts, the software is really a great playground :)

Hoang-Tran Vo Thanks for your suggestions. We are currently testing several new possible extensions.
Regarding updates you can find a new stable version here, which is well tested:
http://www.photoperfect.c...40-eng.exe

This version offers some more 48-bit (scripting) functions, support for newer cameras and their RAW files as well as some performance/layout tweaks. Newer versions of the extensions are also included.

Please note that in very rare cases this update might be not 100% compatible with MonochromiX yet.

@Frank Stephens: In case you are experiencing any bug on your systems, please let us know, so that we can verify and fix them. Although our software are thoroughly tested, we can never rule out all bugs from scratch due to the vast amount of different system configurations.
