We don´t have the ultimate solution(I dont think there is such a thing), but we have really good matches for a lot of requirements and scenarios, for smaller setups with PowerFolder Pro and for larger scenarios with our Server products, which give you your own inhouse cloud.

Alexander Deliyannis Hi, do I understand correctly that:

(a) PowerFolder Pro is installable software that I will be able to use after the 1 year of free cloud storage expires; i.e. I will still be able to sync files between my computers.

(b) The cloud storage is complementary, i.e. I don't need to use it if I don't want to. If I do use it, I can select which files it will be used for.

(c) There is no limitation in the number and size of files to be kept in sync among the PCs (other than my hard drives' capacity)

Unless I am mistaken, the license is only valid for one year : "Three computer license valid for 12 months." (Source : https://www.powerfolder.c...ilver.html)

You might want to check out Simidude (http://www.agynamix.de/pr.../simidude/), which serves the same purpose. $25 for a permanent license.

Bernhard Rutkowsky Hello yes the the license is valid for one year, users who buy it here get the same discount for every year. The prices includes all updates and support. If not renewed the License falls back to a 2 GB free version. You can freely choose the location and files to sync and you define for each folder if you wish to back it up to the online storage.

Dear Roger even so i like some of the features of you offer (shared clipboard for example) it is very far from any kind of automatic process and i dont think that it can find other computers automatically, i think it really might make sense, but it is something pretty much different(at least in my eyes ) .

Alexander Deliyannis Roger, thanks for the info. However, I do own a license to Simidude and for me it is clearly something very different. Simidude is a shared clipboard; it only copies across computers what one puts on the clipboard. Also, it does not save the info across sessions. Last but not least, it will not transfer files across PCs unless you specifically 'download' them.

If I understand PowerFolder's operation correctly, it is much more similar to Dropbox. However, unlike Dropbox, it does not copy everything to the cloud --a good thing if one wants to maintain responsibility for their information dissemination.
