When you're giving a presentation, do you ever get the feeling that your audience just isn't getting it? Do you spend the rest of the week answering questions from attendees that seem to have had obvious answers? Today's promotion offers a Windows software application that will help you become a better presenter, and it's called Presentation Marker!

Presentation Marker lets you mark up your presentation right on screen, with the ability to zoom into portions of your presentation to explain them in more detail and draw your audience's attention to where you need it to be. A whole array of effects is at your disposal with Presentation Marker -- pencil, brush, line, rectangle, text, you name it, in all types of widths and colors. Use your keyboard or mouse wheel to zoom into your presentation, or select a specific region for highly-precise zooming. Other effects, all designed to capture your audience's gaze, include spotlight, curtain, and arrow point!

You can even use Presentation Marker to pull up an electronic whiteboard with a background color of your choosing! So, brainstorm to your heart's content, drawing freestyle as your ideas flow freely, then use Presentation Marker to capture the whole screen, a region, or a selected window. No more worrying about someone erasing your notes!

This promotion includes the following:
Presentation Marker (2 Years Upgrades) ($29.95)
Presentation Marker (Lifetime Upgrades) ($49.95)

D H Just wanted to ask, the price shown here (29.95) is that of Presentation Assistant and NOT Presentation Maker (19.95). Wouldn´t it be just better to offer here Presentation Assistant Pro which is the flagship including all the functionality (39.95)?

Mark K Maybe I'm using the program wrong, but I don't see the usefulness of the program. The "mark-up" appears to be on a transparent layer over the material you're marking up. Unfortunately it isn't locked to the layer underneath. If you have to scroll a document, the mark-up you made stays stationary while the document below moves. So now you have the mark-ups over the document in a different place. If you switch screens to a different program that you don't intend to mark-up, the mark-ups are still there. I can see a need to during a presentation and having to open a Word document (etc.) to get some information. When you open the Word document, all of the mark-ups are still on the screen layer and thus on your Word document.

Avi S @Mark - correct, the point of the program is not to effect the layer below. Rather, it's to allow the lecturer to mark up the screen at will, as if there were a transparent chalkboard on top of the projector screen. Thus, when I present my lectures, I will often open up multiple windows on the screen - one text in a PDF reader, another in a Word document, and a third in a dedicated database of ancient texts. As I talk about the texts, I use the product to highlight specific sentences and lines, to draw arrows connecting a word in one source (say, in the PDF) with a word in another source (e.g. in the ancient text database). I can do all of this on the fly, while teaching, which is the great thing about it. To do this in Powerpoint one would have to work for much time in order to prepare the slide beforehand. Here I can present the texts and the web of connections between them in response to a student's question, without needing to have prepared the diagram beforehand.

Avi S I bought the sister product (Presentation Assistant) some time ago on BDJ, and subsequently purchased this one as well (Presentation Marker). Both are worth their weight in gold. As a teacher, I find that they have improved the effectiveness of my presentation many times over.
I did survey (and even purchase) a number of other products on the market that claim to perform similar functions, but Gingko's products were the clear winner, both in terms of functionality as well as in terms of flexibility (setting keyboard shortcuts, etc.)
Furthermore, as a tribute to their excellent customer service I will also note that at one time I ran into a conflict between one of the subfunctions of Presentation Assistant and my particular configuration. I wrote to Garvey Liu proposing a possible solution. He wrote back that day indicating that they would implement the idea, promising a three-day turnaround. And, in fact, only two days later the new update was released for download with the full implementation of the solution!
