projects-software the installation screen provies a button called " internet". push the Button, enter your data and you will recieve the user-id and reg-code

James K I'm not too sure how much I'll be able to use this, and I hope it has a small footprint, but I'm kinda excited about this one!

As for the licence, all I have to say is...

Wow! BitsDuJour seems to be getting the right message, that limited lifetime, or "rental" licenses suck, and there are tons of us who won't use software with them. Even free stuff. There are just too many issues with that. #1 being that installing and uninstalling software screws up Windows. So you need to keep that bs to a minimum. Plus, most software I only use a few times a year, and if it only has a year license, I may have only looked at it a couple of times.

M User The codes came through in about 10-15 minutes, so that definitely worked,

However, when I processed my approx 4000x3000 pixel megapixel color images through the software, the monochrome output was approx 2000x1000 pixel only.

Also, the installer called for Visual C+ 2008 which seemed odd to me, since 2008 is so far back in time.

projects-software @Donnald Terril: Silver projects professoinal is free.Upgrades to future versions of the software will require additional payment. Installing a new version may overwrite the existing version and invalidate your license key.

Paul joubert With all due respect...This must rate as one of the most complicated, frustrating and going nowhere implementations i have encountered in quite a while. Pity as a keen photographer of old, developing negatives and printing photos in a dark room. I was looking forward to creating black and white prints from digital color photos. Alas not to be.

Dan User I've been trying to get the I.D and code since last night. Im registered and have received a newsletter as well, so I know they have my correct email address. I've re-submitted the info a few times and they say to look for it and check the junk mail but nothing other than the newsletter has come. Still no response. Very frustrating

Dan User Its unfortunate that it is this hard to get the code and id for this program. It seems to be really good on paper and its fantastic to have an opportunity to work with this for free. How great is that. But all the problems on something as simple an id and code for installing the program doesn't represent the software company very well and may sour peoples opinion of the company even though they are providing a free professional app like this. Hopefully they will resolve whatever problems they are having on their end, and people will be able to see what greatness the company is capable of.

M User Not that it will decrease your aggravation, but in my tests of this software (see my other comments above), I was disappointed by how it decreased image resolution from 14 megapixels to about 2-3 MP without giving me any option to retain details. Many of the B&W conversion filters gave garish results, but about 10-12 filters seemed consistently decent. Just my 2 cents.

y x @Carol Messner, Dan User, and all the others that have problems receiving their serial ... this is what I do if I do not get it by mail after filling in the registration form and although I got the confirmation screen afterwards ("We sent it by email ...")

1. go to their homepage
2. log into your account
3. go to "my account" tab
4. find the program you need and click "resend serial" underneath

maybe this may be helpful to some

DrTeeth How long should it take for the email containing the user ID and registration code to arrive? I have been spoilt by these sort of things being immediate. I have waited just over 10 mins so far.

Julian Hadlow I've bought a couple of programs from these people fairly recently, but since they choose not to communicate on this issue of no registration info, I won't buy from them again. Very poor customer service.
