Sure, we all love Google Drive, but syncing all Google cloud files, usually tens of Gigabytes, between different devices requires too much local storage and takes too long time. It would be ideal if you can harness the full power of local applications to edit Google Drive files without syncing all files to local.

Skyfiles is a full-featured and disk-free Google Drive client, which allows you to manage Google Drive files from the comfort of your desktop. With Skyfiles, you'll be able to use local applications to modify any Google Drive files, not only Documents and spreadsheets, but image files, text files and more.

Not like Google Drive app, which syncs all data to local storage, Skyfiles only downloads the editing file to a temp folder on your computer and opens it with an appropriate desktop application. Once modifications are made, the file will be automatically synced backup to Google cloud. With Skyfiles, using Photoshop to open and polish an online picture is like a breeze.

More than just a way to edit any Google Drive files, Skyfiles also gives you the full power of Google Drive, like share files, drag & drop upload, file format conversion, and more!

Vipin User Hello, I still am not convinced with the usage of this software. Google has two pieces of software currently that works with Google Drive:
a.) Google Backup and Sync - This one is used mainly for syncing your computer and your google drive, and vice versa. Basically acts like a backup drive at google.
b.) Drive for desktop: This one is the cloud version of the Google Drive. You don't download anything permanently to your hard drive. You just edit the documents (whatever format it is - PDF, XLSX, DOCX, JPG etc.) in your native machine programs. For example, you could edit the DOCX file in Microsoft Office Program installed in your machine, and it saves it back to the Google drive immediately.
Both of these can be found here:

Now, my question is: How is Skyfiles different from 'Drive for Desktop'? I did tried a trial version of your software, and it's lot more limited than Drive for Desktop. There is no integration to the local System (meaning there's no extra drive in your My PC in windows), No folder or file context menus to send a file or folder to Google drive etc. All I get is another program to worry about, and still not able to do the main things which I am so used to.

So, if the developer can let me know the use case of their software, it will be nice. They have to really try hard to convince me for getting their software, instead of Drive for Desktop.
