Steve Hull I have been using it virtually since its' release. I have been a WinPatrol user for many years so it was a "no brainer" as far as whether to get WinAntiRansom and I must say that I am very happy that I got it. It is a quality program and I feel much safer with it running in the background. For $7.47 it is one of the best bargains you will get as far as software goes.

PortablesFan From the old comments, it looks like there used to be a lifetime license. Did this option get removed, apparently?

Tortuga Hi Everybody :)
Any chance anyone know the difference between WAR and CryptoPrevent?
Purchased CryptoPrevent long before WinAntiRansom existed,
Long time user of WP, also bought WinPrivacy but have not yet installed yet.
Thanks in advance

Bret Lowry Hi PortablesFan, yes this product used to sold with a lifetime license, but in our move to an annual renewal model we created lower price points for single and three user purchases. The purchase is no longer user specific. Thank you for pointing out we missed that on a page.

Bret Lowry Yes, WinAntiRansom was created to run alongside of your current security products, including your AV solutions.
We haven't seen many tests that include Norton security products, so we are unable to answer if it is effective against ransomware. In reviewing their site, they don't even mention ransomware,

Joe M Bret Lowery. I have used WinAntiRansom with Norton Security Suite from Comcast and I did not seem to have a problem with both programs running at the same time.

RS I know that another Ruiware title, WinPrivacy, triggers ongoing and repeated anti-tampering warnings and blocking actions by Norton Security, using system resources endlessly. I notified the developer of this conflict, and was promised that it would be addressed within a matters of months. More than a year later, the problem still remains, and it seems that it has been ignored in favor of focusing on the development of its new title, WinRansom. I'm a fan of Ruiware programs, along with WinPatrol; however, I believe that commitments should be kept and the focus should be on resolving problems with existing products before moving on to new projects.

Thomas User I had Anty Ransomware and Win Privacy right from the beginning and it is great I run it beside my Kaspersky Internet Security and Malwarebyte Internetsecurety programms. I am very happy with my Set-up.
