Bruce I've been using the free version of FastStone Capture for a few years.
(It replaced several other free capture tools I have tried that did not work as well and were not as user friendly.)
It's a great tool, works wonders - not just with the kinds of capture mode, but also with its built-in editor and captioning tool.
You can add text blurbs and highlight -and blur- data in the capture shot. And you can capture scrolling text windows and web pages.
Would love to get the full and latest version on discount here.
The pay-version includes many improvements including animation/screen recording.
