disenchanted liteCAM:
I needed a video capture program that could record a couple training programs that are in the form of streaming video.
(the training vendor has converted most of their videos to MP4, making them available for download and then offline viewing).
I wanted to have a couple of videos available "offline", to view on my netbook during my airline travels.
Normally I use an old version of Camtasia, but it has issues with my "audio source". I couldn't get any audio.
I also have 1AVcapture and it also had audio problems.
Same with Hypercam.
Last weekend I tried several free applications and along with several paid version's "DEMOs" .
I finally found a program called liteCAM by Innoheim.
It worked perfectly right out of the gate !
The audio and video worked perfect the first time I tried to record.
The interface and setup/configuration options are
simple and straightforward.
The best thing being that they simply and consistently work !
The demo version works as a "fully enabled" version for like 15 or 30 days. It let me record/test a 22 minute video and the resulting video had the "liteCAM' name and the word DEMO VERSION imprinted in the video [to indicate it was the "demo" version].
The post-recording "rendering" or whatever it is called is almost instantaneous. (unlike camtasia, which can take 5-10 minutes AFTER recording, to render the final video.
Create training videos:
This program lets you record what you are doing on your windows pc screen plus it has a drawing option, that allows you to write/draw on the screen while creating a training video within your windows desktop.
