Jon Koerner This is a just-released new version of DriveLED, which is a floating desktop toolbar thingie that shows a great deal of real-time monitoring information about all hard drives in a system. (Also can monitor network drives).

Larry Holmes I have tried a few of these types of software in the past (perhaps I should say, the DISTANT past!) Oddly enough, they seemed to cause problems with the drives when used with features such as write-back buffers and others. I would occasionally have a mysterious loss of data with no clue as to what was causing it. I finally found that the problems were present only when I had the drive activity lights installed. I never found what the problem was; I did not have time (I was building a new company at the time, just as I am doing again now!! Some people never learn...) I was quite puzzled by the whole thing, as I could not conceive what could cause that kind of problem with a "simple" drive activity monitor ?? Anyway, if you can avoid these types of problems (hey, I am a "hardware type" = design engineer, so what do I know about software of this type????), I will be a happy camper, as it always seems that the drive led is put in an awkward place or it is not bright enough to see in a lit room, and so forth. Count me in when you are ready to test or sell this for a great price. I'll even put it on the web page, whenever I get one...... Larry Holmes aka "kosimov"
