a a Provides a visual front-end for PC-Lint, integrating it into Visual Studio.

NOTE: without PC-Lint, this product is useless, hence my other request for PC-Lint. ;)

Would be great if both the Standard and Pro versions were included in the discount, and preferably with PC-Lint on the same day as well.

Lint is a great tool for finding bugs, and even better with Visual Lint for VS developers. However, for most small-time or hobbyist developers, the cost is just too high. With a big BDJ discount, I'm sure many developers may be tempted to buy a licence, with possible future upgrade sales for the makers of Visual Lint and PC-Lint.

Anna-Jayne Metcalfe The tricky thing here is as you rightly describe the dependency on PC-lint. Although we (Riverblade) do resell PC-lint a discount offer like this would have to be arranged via Gimpel themselves.

The lack of a PC-lint trial version is also a real problem for a BDJ listing.

However, from next Spring Visual Lint will also support additional analysis tools (CppCheck and ClockSharp are the first two to be implemented, but others will almost certainly follow).

As CppCheck is open source, you will then be able to try out and run Visual Lint without needing to buy a third party analysis tool.

We've talked to the admins at BDJ, and feel that it would be wise to wait until versions of the software containing that functionality are publicly available before running an offer on BDJ.
