1. Smeg BCC02

The design was created by Milan-based company Deep Design, this sleek, compact and striking machine pairs the unique retro style of the brand with modern technology. This machine handles all stages of making coffee, from grinding beans to making a puck, then texturing milk before dispensed the right volume.

The machine is also available in red, black or taupe. It will easily be incorporated into any kitchen style. It's not without faults however: the majority of reviewers found it a little expensive for a bean-to-cup maker. cup maker (and it doesn't come with a milk pitcher).

There were numerous glowing reviews about the machine's ease of use and the quality of its coffee. The digital display offers feedback and step-by-step directions throughout the entire brewing process that will help you improve your coffee every time. It will even prompt you to alter the grind size if not quite right. If you prefer drinks with milk, this model features an adjustable steam wand up and down to accommodate all drinking vessels, but not the Viking's drinking horn. We were awestruck by the speed and effectiveness of the frothing process, too. It also produces an excellent espresso, with a fantastic crema and full flavour despite its compact size.

The BCC02 is a great all-rounder that's quiet, efficient and offers superb value for money at the current price of PS499. The only drawback is the fact that it doesn't offer the same degree of customization as other bean to cups we've evaluated. It comes with a 15 bar pump instead of the typical 19 bars that aren't as efficient for making high-quality espressos. However it's a fantastic machine to make coffee for those who prefer their coffee strong and black. Click here to view Lavazza's great deal.
