UPVC Replacement Door Handles

The handles on your doors get worn out over time and will need to be replaced. It is essential to match the dimensions of the handles that were previously used when replacing them.

The three measurements to check are the top screw's position as well as the key hole and lever sizes. Use the size guide to assist you.

Inline Lever/Lever

A lever handle is a contemporary door handle designed to work with new or replacement doors. This style of handle is available in a variety of designs and finishes. A number of manufacturers offer this handle, including Avocet ERA, Fullex, Hoppe, Mila, Millenco & Yale.

Fab and Fix Windsor Inline Sprung Lever Door Handle

The uPVC/Composite door handles are made of robust materials and are suitable for doors with multi-point locks that require a heavy duty design. The handles are inline and they use the same screws and spindle to fix them. They can be easily installed on any uPVC/Composite doors.

The design of the sprung lever allows the handle to be positioned and angled for comfortable operation and is suitable for all users. The handle has been endurance tested to 200,000 cycles. This will ensure the quality of the finish and performance of the handle over time. The sprung lever can also be cut to fit more locks. This is especially useful in doors with smaller door frames in which the cylinder is further back. A lever that is shorter can be used on doors that have a latch that can be activated with the thumb inside.

door handle replacement made of upvc operates differently from lever-type handles that are found on the majority of doors. These handles are operated by one spindle, or two spindles inline or offset. They are typically utilized on UPVC doors with double glazing. They are available in a range of finishes & variations.

The handles have been tested to a minimum of 200 000 cycles and are available in a variety of finishes like White and Silver, as well as Chrome & Gold. The finish meets BS EN 1670:2007 Grade 5 and is also resistant to corrosion, giving the handle a high degree of durability and performance for its intended use.

All UPVC handle lever pads come with a spindle, screws and can be installed on the uPVC door. The backplate fixing centres of 211mm allow for a larger size of handle which can often be a benefit in replacing a defective or worn multi-point door lock mechanism. The handle levers are sprung, solving the problem of door handles sagging out of their horizontal position when they are not being used.

It is important to match the dimensions of the PZ for both the multipoint lock and the uPVC doors when selecting the replacement UPVC spindle and handle. This measurement is also called 'handle centre or cylinder centres'. It is important for matching the correct handles.

Once you have decided on the correct size of PZ, you will need to make sure that the push and lever pads are shaped to fit the American with Disabilities Act compliant handles that you need for your door. They typically have of a round or square design with an internal lever as well as an external push pad.

The majority of the UPVC Lever Pads that we offer are spring-loaded. This means they can be reverted to a horizontal state when not in use instead of hanging, and possibly sticking in the frame. This helps prevent the draughts and cold air from entering a property. It is also the case that the majority of the UPVC handle lever pad style handles are hand-operated that allows you to put them on either side of the door.

Euro Cylinder

Cylinder locks can be found on uPVC and other types of doors. The cylinder lock operates by using a key that unlocks the cylinder's case. This exposes pins that can be aligned with the pins in the lock and allow them to turn the revolving camera, thereby opening the door. Euro cylinders can be fitted with up to six pins, with both internal and external doors usually requiring different levels of security.

The selection of a cylinder is vital. It depends on the type of use your doors and handles will receive. For example, external doors should be fitted with a higher security cylinder, whilst internal doors can be secured using the standard cylinder. Additionally, certain cylinders have extra features which can enhance security, for instance anti-drill or anti-bump properties.

A euro cylinder must be properly measured to ensure it is the right size for your door. The cylinder needs to be measured from the screw hole in the center to the ends of the cylinder. This includes the thumb turn, in the event that one is present. It is best to do this while the lock is in place however, if this is not possible, you may take it off to measure. A cylinder that protrudes beyond the handle and escutcheon could be vulnerable to attacks such as snapping locks, so it is essential that it's not too long.

The majority of modern cylinders have been made with anti-drill and bump resistance features built into their design. They are designed to decrease attack chances by forcing the cylinders to turn in a different direction. This helps stop the attack and ensure your doors are secure.

There are also cylinders constructed to resist snapping. This is a typical attack on cylinders. A specific tool is used to break the break line of the lock and the front of the cylinder is snapped off. This is faster and easier to achieve than opening the door with multipoint locks and leaves no evidence of a burglary, which can hinder an insurance claim.

Spring Cassette

This spring cassette sits within the base of your door handle's backplate, providing a spring solution and returning your multipoint lock handles to their rest position after use. There was a time when these types of handle didn't have a spring built into them and without this they tend to droop or drop when the locking mechanism has been disengaged. This simple part is the best way to fix this problem. It also stops your door from becoming stuck in either the closed or open position as they are difficult to close manually.

These spring cassettes were created to be used with sprung multipoint lock. They will not fit unsprung handles and you'll have to cut a hole into your backplate for them to fit. (Please look at the image for a more detailed diagram). These cassettes can be used as a replacement for damaged or missing cassettes that are in the backplate of uPVC door handles. They are supplied in a single unit. They come with a square cut out that accommodates an 8mm shaft.

These spring cassettes are an excellent value solution to the problem of door handles that are sagging. These spring cassettes are easy to install and will increase the lifespan of your uPVC door.
