Three Wheeled Buggies

Whether you're looking for a buggy to run with or just a compact stroller for neighbourhood walks, three wheeled buggies are great for mobility. Their compact design allows them to be maneuvered easily even in tight spaces.

For a smooth ride, opt for a pram that has air-filled tyres. Also, look for models with a 360deg front swivel wheel. However, they are more prone to punctures so be prepared with an repair kit.

Frame made of sturdy material

New figures show that three-wheeled buggies that were the symbol of the noughties that were more expensive than common sense, are in rapid decline. Four-wheelers are replacing them, and are more versatile and easier to drive while still looking elegant.

The bigger the wheels are the better your buggy will cope with bumpy surfaces and uneven pavements. Having larger wheels both front and back makes it much easier to maneuver and more stable when walking downhill or on rough terrain.

MFM reviewer Kath tried this buggy on an infant as well as a child who was 3 years old and found it to be extremely sturdy. It was able to withstand cobbles, grass and rough pavements, aswell as dirt tracks and kerbs. Kath said that "it feels sturdy to push and extremely solid when going over difficult terrain. The tyres, which are inflated and require to be pumped up regularly, have built-in suspension. This was very comfortable for my kids.

Another thing to think about is the size and shape. You'll want it to be big enough for your child's comfort and you will also need it to recline to allow them to lie flat. Some three-wheel buggies have a lie-flat option that allows your child to lie flat and face you, while other buggies only permit a parent-facing option.

An excellent option for taking on off-road and muddy walks is the Roma Atlas. The buggy can be used as a single unit from birth, and then expands to take two children when your family grows. It is suitable for babies and toddlers until age four and comes with a bumper bar, raincover, a better 5-point harness, and a large cushioned seat unit. Storage options are also a plus with a large storage basket with zip pockets on the hood, and an extra pouch at the rear of seat unit.

Wheels with larger diameter

Larger wheels means that your buggy will be more stable on uneven terrain, which is ideal for off-road buggies. Additionally, they allow you to maneuver the pushchair through narrow spaces. A lot of three-wheeled buggies come with swivel front wheels to help you navigate around tight corners, while others are specifically designed for running and have fixed front wheels that lock to increase the speed and stability at which they can be pushed. This is also useful if you bump against trees or a kerb. The front wheel will be lifted slightly to keep it from hitting it.

Many 3 wheeled pushchairs have air-filled tyres that allow them to handle a wide range of terrains. They are also more flexible than 4 wheelers. They are also lighter. However, they are prone to punctures so you'll need to have an repair kit, spare inner tube, and pump on hand.

Mountain Buggy Core, Venicci Carbo and Venicci Carbo Lux are among our top 3-wheelers. Both buggies feature larger wheels that, according to MFM reviewer Kath, "perform really well on gravel tracks, grass and market town cobbles" and are able to easily move up and down kerbs. They also come with a suspension system that, in her words "smoothes out bumps extremely effectively".

The downside of having larger wheels is that they can make buggies quite large and may struggle to squeeze through narrow spaces. This can be an issue when you're using it for a jogger or you need to be able to get through narrow doorways when out and out and about. Fortunately, the majority of models come with compact folding options that allow you to take off the front wheels for more compact storage.

Easy to Manoeuvre

One of the major advantages to a three wheel buggy is that it's much more maneuverable especially with a child on the way. The way in which they are built ensures that the front wheels turn at a whim and are incredibly easy to manoeuvre and are ideal for difficult terrain such as parks, cobbles and bumpy pavements as well as dirt tracks.

MFM reviewer Kath tried the 3-wheeler with her toddler, and she wrote: "The Terrain is a delight to navigate on uneven terrain. The swivel wheel front was particularly helpful." I was also amazed by how well it handled kerbs when using the hand-operated break. It was very stable going downhill or on a rough terrain."

The only drawback to this great maneuverability, is that the larger wheels of a 3 wheel buggy might make it difficult to fit into tight spaces. This is something you need to keep in mind if your home area is one of the cities. If this is a concern then a 4-wheeler might be a better option for you.

Bumper bar

Bumper bars protect your child from scrapes and bumps when they are out and out and about. They are simple and quick to put in and will make your child feel secure and safe while out on the town or tackling tough terrain.

This bumper bar was designed to complement the sleek lines of your Slim Twin stroller. It comes with a soft, padded surface that provides an ideal place for your child to hold onto while walking. The robust construction and durable design will ensure that your child is able to enjoy strolling around town without having to worry about falling or leaning towards the side.

The sling seat is comfortably inside the frame as opposed to on top of it like modular seats. It provides the lowest centre of gravity at the right height for your infant and also delivering an excellent weight distribution to facilitate kerb pop (it takes much less effort to push the buggy up and over a curb than you might think). 3 wheeler pushchair said it's excellent on cobbles and grass. It's also a great alternative for running, thanks to its air-filled tyres and lockable swivel wheel.

This bumper bar is sure to turn heads wherever it is utilized. It has a classy and fashionable design. It's available in a variety of finishes and colours to match your style. The bumper bar is easily removed and installed with a quick-release mechanism. Additionally the bar is easy to clean, and is made from sturdy materials that are easy to clean. This makes it a good option for families who want a stylish and secure stroller accessory.

Comfort

A 3-wheel buggy is a great off-road vehicle for handling and performance. This kind of buggy is simple to steer and turns at a moment's notice due to its perfect geometry engineering, as well as weight distribution.

Designed with fabric sling seat placed snugly within the frame instead of sitting on top like modular seats, the Sport's smart design permits it to have a lower centre of gravity at the right height for your child - delivering you an easier push, a less hefty curb pop (you do not require the same amount of weight or effort to lift the buggy's nose up and over the curb) and better stability and balance. With the 16" rear wheels, lockable front wheel, and tyres that are air-filled which allow for a smoother, more comfortable jogging.

As the only all-terrain pushchair in our collection with a parent-facing seat that can also be used as the form of a car seat or carrycot, you can future proof your family and enjoy every adventure from day dot and for years to come and all within the footprint of a single buggy!

But that's not the only reason to love this buggy - our MFM reviewer Kath loved how spacious it is too. There's a huge easily accessible basket that's huge for a buggy of this size as well as a handy zipped pouch on the rear of the seat unit and even two smaller mesh pockets inside the hood to keep your keys and phone.
