Robots That Vacuum and Mop

Robots that vacuum and clean offer the convenience of cleaning both dry debris and wet mess in one session without the need to switch devices. They can also reduce space in comparison to two separate units, especially in smaller living areas.

A good combination bot will offer excellent navigation and obstacle avoidance. Look for models with docks that allow them to automatically empty their bins, fill their water tanks and machine-wash the mopping pads.

1. Eufy S1 Pro

It has a lot to offer for its relatively affordable price and is one of the most simple robots we've tested to install. Unpacking is easy and the quick-start guide gets you up and running in no time. It comes with a full dust bag, water tank, and a hard floor solution.

The S1 Pro is a powerful small machine that can cleans up a mess and also vacuums well. The mops spin at high speeds and exert 2.2 pounds (1kg) of force, which makes short work of dirt, pet hair, and dried sticky spills. The vacuum cleaner has four power settings, a range of brushes and attachments as well as an intuitive app that lets you select the type of cleaning you want for each room.

For example, you can opt for the robot to clean up the living and kitchen but go easy on the spare bedroom. The S1 Pro has excellent front collision sensors as well as smart navigation technology. It can detect small obstacles that other models cannot. Its only issue is that it is known to smash into objects and walls at full speed. However looking at the history of cleaning in the app will tell you exactly what the robot has done, where it is moving, and what obstacles it has encountered or avoided.

A convenient LCD screen on the docking station shows the maintenance tasks that are required like emptying the debris tray, and cleaning the dirty water tank. It can also mix detergent into the water tank by itself with a 600ml of eufy solution.

Both the S1 Pro mop and vacuum have a long run time. The mop is able to run for 184 minutes in Quiet Mode, and the vacuum can last for 136 minutes in standard mode, before needing recharging or returning to the base. my company is simple to use and intuitive that lets you see all the details of the cleaning.

2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra

The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra, the most recent version of Roborock's most popular robot mop and vacuum, is the most recent version. The model of this year features a double agitator built into its mopping pad. This increases the carpet cleaning capabilities of this model. The S8 Pro Ultra also has improved suction power, allowing it to pull up small hairs and other particles that other robotic cleaners might miss.

As with the other two Roborock models I've tested it also has a 3D obstacle avoidance and infrared technology which helps to avoid furniture, walls and other obstacles. But the S8 Pro Ultra takes things a step further by adding a dual camera which can recognize objects and determine whether they are a wall or another surface. It then can alter its path automatically and clean the objects, without missing a step.

It's the most expensive model I've tested, but it also has the most features. Its sleek angular design is eye catching and comes with three buttons that are physically accessible. The power button, which resumes the cleaning, a mop button that doubles up as a child-lock and a home button to take the robot to its dock. The hinged lid opens to reveal a 350ml trash bin and 200ml of water tank. The water tank is self-emptying, and the bin is auto-filling.

The only issue I encountered to this model was that the VibraRise mop pads mount isn't removable. While you can swap out the mopping cloth (if necessary) but it's a challenge to remove the mount for manual washing. I've noticed that any carpet that the robot touches will come into contact with the rough Velcro like fastener system on mounts, which can cause scratches.

The S8 Pro Ultra is equipped with a number smart features that include support for Google Home and Amazon Alexa. You can set up and manage these through the Roborock app, which is also the home of its maps and advanced mopping settings. The app allows you to schedule cleanings and track the battery's lifespan. But you'll need to jump through a few hoops to allow voice control with this model which is a pity considering the quality of its performance.

3. Dreame X40

The Dreame X40 is an industry-leading robot vacuum and mop equipped with incredible suction power, sophisticated mowing capabilities, and a variety of innovative features. Its innovative design allows for customized and efficient cleaning while saving you time.

The X40 robot vacuum cleaner is the first to offer 12,000 Pascals cleaning power. It is among the most powerful choices available. This powerful vacuum can clean up pet hair as well as crumbs and other dry debris. It also comes with a top-quality mop that leaves hard floors sparkling clean, even without a wet pad. The X40 is also very quiet when in operation, with only occasional bursts during modes changes or self-maintenance.

Another standout feature is the X40's expandable and liftable side brush which lets it get into hard-to-reach corners and intimately clean furniture, such as tables and chairs' legs. The robot can also reach under low-profile furnishings which makes it a great option for smaller apartments or condos. The side brush automatically tilts down when detecting wet spots, which is a nice feature that assists the X40 avoid damaging floors with excessive back-and-forth movements.

Contrary to other robots which solely focus on one task, the X40 is capable of performing both vacuuming and mopping simultaneously or in a series. It can be programmed to mop only the hard floors and not skip carpeted areas or reverse the process. It can be controlled via the Dreame app or via Alexa, Siri, and Google Home for a seamless voice-controlled operation.

The app is simple and user-friendly and the X40's clever features are simple to install. Users can program the X40 to clean at specific times, alter suction power and mode, view mapping and floor plans and manage mopping settings. The X40 will also monitor its progress and notify you when it is finished.

The X40 is easy to keep clean and has many features that make it a great option for busy families. The docking station can automatically empty the dustbin, and clean mop pads before refilling them with fresh cleaning solution and water. It will also tell you the moment when the mop pad is at its maximum capacity and alert you to the situation before it spills.

4. L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra is a high-end robot that is among the most expensive available and comes with a lot of extra features that make it stand out. The mops are equipped with a new feature called Smart DuoScrub. It uses two high-speed mops to clean floors more thoroughly than the conventional method, and has the highest suction power of 7,000Pa. This is significantly higher than that of the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra or Ecovacs Deebot T20 Omni and can remove pet hair and small dirt particles - and also pick up spills and wet spots.

The mops are cleaned and dried in the base station every time they are used. This is beneficial because it stops mould and unpleasant odours that can build up in the storage. It also makes the mop system more efficient. This is a system we haven't yet seen on other robot vacuum and mop models and it could be a useful way of keeping your home cleaner for longer.

There's a plethora of settings available, including the possibility to schedule cleaning appointments and alter a variety of preferences. The app allows you to make these settings or you can utilize the buttons on the device itself. The app is simple to use and offers a variety of options to customize your cleaning routine. It also comes with a number of functions that are not available on other robots, such as the Clean Genius Mode, which automatically increases suction whenever it detects dust particles.

The L20 Ultra has a stylish design with a metallic-white-white finish that looks elegant and sophisticated. It's a bit heavier than the other two-in-one robots on this list - at around 4kg - but it's not obscenely heavy, and it is sturdy and well-built. The mopping is also well-designed, and the double rotating mop is great for hard floors and in corners. The MopExtend feature allows them to reach up to 2mm below baseboards.
