A Small Double Buggy That's Easy to Push One-Handed and Carry Up and Down Stairs

If you're looking for a lightweight double stroller that is easy to push with one hand and climb and descend stairs This is the perfect model.

It has a pair fixed seats and up to 30 different seating configurations are possible (including the triangular design!). Both seats have UPF 50+ canopies with windows that peek out.

Size

The Joovy Kooper X2 is a double stroller that is side-by-side and can seat two children at up to 50lbs each. Its seats are more generously large than other lightweight double strollers and the canopy comes with nice-sized SPF 50 sunshades with windows that are peekaboo. Other features that are important include cup holders for one parent and an enormous, self-standing basket that can accommodate up to 25 pounds; swing-away bar for children to climb in and out of their seats and the wheels can be locked with swivels to allow for better maneuverability on rough terrain. It is a great choice for urban and suburban families. It is also newborn-ready with the double set which includes an infant wedgie that can be used to lie flat in a position.

Weight

The weight of double buggies will determine its ability to push. Typically, a light buggy is easier to lift and carry, but may not have as much suspension to withstand bumps and uneven terrain.

Most double buggies have an upper limit on the weight of each seat and some have overall frame weight limits which is why it's essential to know the specifics of each model prior to you buy. Some also fold with seats removed, making them even smaller and lighter this can be beneficial in cases where storage space is an all-time low.

Tri-fold doubles are usually the lightest, since they only require a single hand to lift the top and lower sections. They are also narrower than buggies that are side by side and are able to fit through most doorways. The iCandy Geo 3 is one of the lightest tri-fold doubles available on the market and can comfortably hold twins or a toddler and a baby.

Tandem buggies are initially one pushchair, but they come with adapters to accommodate a second seat, carrycot or car seat, making them the ideal choice for expanding families. Some, like the iCandy Orange, offer over 30 seating configurations, meaning they can adapt to your family until the age of a third child. They tend to weigh more than tri-fold doubles, but they're generally easier to move across kerbs due to the weight being distributed more evenly.

Folding

The best double buggies for small spaces fold up easily, in a matter of seconds. Our Lab experts appreciate this feature as it helps them fit the buggies in the back of their vehicles and also save storage space when not in use. For example the Joovy Kooper X2 has straps on each seat that are able to be pulled up, and the entire thing folds down -- it's a tri-fold that even our most senior testers could accomplish with just one hand.

The lightweight Delta Children LX side by side is another excellent option for double buggies. Its light weight is a plus, but it also has some great features such as large pop-out canopies that have SPF 50 and peekaboo windows swing-away bars that aid youngsters to climb into and out of the seats and reclined seating and leg rests for younger children.

Manoeuvrability

When choosing a small double stroll, it's important to consider its maneuverability. This is a good indicator of how easy it is for both children to travel in the buggy. Some pushchairs, such as the iCandy Orange with its 'cinema seating' (where the back seat is elevated) are better than other models.

This is the reason why narrow tandem buggies and side-by-side designs come in useful. However, they are a bit longer overall and can be difficult to maneuver through doorways.

The UPPAbaby Vista 2 is an excellent example, as it's a relatively compact pushchair that allows for two seats to be added as well as an important feature - an 'piggyback'-style board that can accommodate an additional child.

Other smaller, three-wheeled models, such as the phil&teds Dot are also extremely agile. This is particularly evident with its innovative "dot kit" that transforms it into an inline buggie. It comes with different seating configurations that are suitable for children of varying ages and even allows the front seat to be rotated to face the parents for optimum face-to-face bonding. It comes with an ample storage basket and is easy to fold. It is an excellent choice for growing families!

Comfort

With compact tandem strollers or versatile side-by-side buggies, parents can monitor both kids at the grocery store, park or anywhere else. These lightweight doubles can accommodate two children up to 50 lbs each. They also come with pop-out canopy which can be extended enough to give shade. They also come with reversible seatback cup holders and an individual cup holder for parents as well as a huge underseat basket.

Add twin pushchairs &teds Double Kit to your dot buggy when you are beginning with a growing household. It will transform it into a double-inline stroller that is ideal for toddlers and newborns alike. The innovative 3-wheel design allows for easy kerb popping as well as superior mobility, while the sling seat is the perfect opportunity for babies to bond with their parents. It is easy to swap the sling seat with an infant car adapter when your children grow older. You're ready to go on your next adventure with a deluxe travel bag and rain cover included!
