Item level

Item level, also known as ilvl, is an important indicator of the strength of a gear. It is a measure of the power of an item, and is utilized by a number of mechanics such as stat bonuses, procs and effects. In general, items with higher ilvls are generally more powerful than those with lower ivls.

The item level is determined by a formula which takes into account both the stats of an item and the number of sockets it has. Also, gems are taken into account. This makes it simple to upgrade gear and reach max level of the item. It isn't easy to find a formula that considers these elements. This can lead to confusion.

The Item Upgrader can boost the value of an item in two ways: by using the gear transfer system, and by purchasing crests. It is therefore recommended to use the Gear Transfer System whenever you want to upgrade your gear.

A successful upgrade will raise the iLvl level by one increment. It will also add a bonus to the item that can boost its efficiency by only a tiny amount. It's important, as it makes it easier to obtain the best gear for your character. This is especially true in the final stage, when you're working on the full set of Tier 2 gear. In order to do this, you'll need to use the Gear Transfer system that allows you to upgrade your gear to a higher level without losing any upgrades or crests.

Additionally you can also use the Gear Transfer System to transfer upgrades from an older item to a newer one. This is a great method to farm Harmony Shards, which are required to upgrade your weapons and armor to a high level.
