Buy a Category B+ Driving License Online

If you're interested in becoming a truck driver you'll require a commercial driver's license (CDL). There are a variety of CDLs that allow you to operate specific types of vehicles.

Class B is a standard type of CDL that permits drivers to drive vehicles that weigh more than 26,001 pounds and to carry trailers up to 10,000 lbs. Drivers can earn additional endorsements to improve their abilities.

What is a Class B+ License?

A Class B+ licence allows you to drive bigger trailers and vehicles than a normal car licence (category b). This is because holders of category B+ licences have passed an additional test and have been "given" the greater B+E limit. The towing limit you have depends on the date that your B+E license was issued by the government. Check out the following section under "Licence towing limits".

A Category B+ license is similar to the Commercial Driver's License (CDL). The difference is that a class A CDL will allow you to operate multiple types of trucks and tractor trailers and tractor trailers, while the Class B CDL will only let you drive single vehicles that have a GVWR of at least 26,000 pounds and a towed cargo vehicle which weighs less than 10,000 pounds. This kind of license is perfect for drivers who wish to find an entry-level job in the trucking industry but aren't old enough to get an A Class CDL.

It is worth considering this option if your goal is to move to the UK and work as a trucker. However the British government has made some changes to the way that they give out the category B+ licence, so it is important to visit the government website for more information. The changes mean that it's now much harder to obtain a legally valid category B+ licence, but you will still be allowed to pull your trailer to the maximum limit if you pass your B+E test before 19th January 2021. After the date, you'll only be permitted to tow your trailer up to 3,500kg.

What are the requirements for a Class B+ licence?

To obtain a class-B+ license, you must meet the requirements of your state. The requirements differ from state to state but they do require a non-commercial permit and being able to meet the state's minimum age requirement. If you hold a category B licence with code 96 or BE, you are permitted to drive a trailer and vehicle combination up to 3,500kg MAM (the maximum permitted mass of the combination vehicle and trailer). You can determine the amount of your trailer's MAM is by looking at Section 5 'Classification' on the registration certificate of your vehicle. If you are a holder of a category B license without code 96 or BE you can only drive trailers that weigh more than 750kg MAM.
