A Small Bedside Cot That Attaches to Your Adult Bed

If you're looking to keep baby as close as possible to him at night, but not have to leave the bed, a crib for bed is the best option. The breathable fabric allows you to easily see your baby and is easy to lower when you need to feed your baby at 3am.

Some double as a moses basket too.

What is a bedside cot?

A bedside crib, also referred to as a bassinet or co-sleeper is a baby cot attached to your adult bed. This allows your child to sleep with you in a safe environment. This is a safe form of co-sleeping that doesn't increase your risk of SIDS as bedsharing does. It also helps you bond with the newborn baby.

They have an end that can be lowered to allow you to reach your baby easily in the nighttime to comfort them and feed them. This is especially helpful for mothers who are recovering from a csection. Many of them are portable or foldable, so you can bring them along on trips and use them as a temporary sleeping option for babies who aren't quite ready to move to a full-sized cot.

If you're looking for a bedside crib Look for a crib with a breathable mattress and a cover to shield your infant from stains. You'll also want to pick up some baby-safe add-ons like a blanket, teether and a soft toy.

If you're looking for a more long-term option, some cribs come with conversion kits that let you turn them into a cot, or a toddler bed at the time of need. This will extend their life and make the transition a lot easier. Some come with a removable section at the top that can be converted into a bassinet. Some can be used with an adult bed that is standard or a high-rise bed. This is a great option for families that plan on traveling frequently or switching rooms throughout the night. Be aware of the size of your bedroom to make sure you can be able to fit in the crib comfortably. Many cribs come with risers that can be used to create an incline for babies with reflux.

The Joie Roomie Glide

The Roomie Glide, a bedside crib from the English brand Joie is a fantastic addition to their range of high-quality products for infants. Designed to allow parents to bond with their babies whilst sleeping side by side without sharing a bed this co-sleeper comes with features that help make bonding between parents enjoyable, safe and easy.

A gentle rocking motion can be activated by pressing a button. It can help soothe baby to sleep by a gentle rhythm that doesn't disrupt their normal sleeping routine. This is great for toddlers and older infants who are struggling to settle and can help with digestive issues such as reflux and colic.

The crib can be locked into place once the rocking is finished to stop it from moving. It can also be secured to the side of your bed by clips and straps. This makes it extremely stable and secure allowing you to get a good night's rest without worrying about your little one sliding off into the middle of the room. The rounded shape of the cocoon has soft padded side panels and double mesh windows on both ends. This allows for airflow while ensuring your baby's safety.

The mattress comes with a comfortable and firm and comes with a removable cover. The crib is easy to assemble and disassemble with a lightweight aluminium frame that makes it very portable. The four lockable wheels are rubber-covered to ensure that the crib won't leave marks on your floor and are easy to move around. It is easy to clean with fabric wipes and is simple to tote in a bag for travel, making it perfect for extended time away from home.

The TuttiBambini CoZee Air

This model is made to be a safe, baby-sitter from birth to 6 months. It comes with bars with rocking for easy mobility and castors. Its deluxe airflow mattress offers a comfortable sleep surface while the ventilation panels ensure your baby is kept cool. There are six different height settings including an incline setting to aid in reducing reflux and congestion.

Contrary to some cribs that are placed on the bed, which can be a nightmare to clean due to their incessant stream of snot and dribble The Tutti Bambini CoZee Air comes with a wipe-clean liner and fabric that can be removed to wash in the machine. It also has a top bar that can be easily lowered for feeding at night without having to fiddle with zips in the dark.

Anna discovered that the CoZee was a comfortable and safe sleeping space for her infant. She was pleased that it didn't sway like other models, which meant it wasn't waking her at night when she was trying to comfort her baby during feeds. She also liked that the side of the chair could be lowered so she didn't have to reach over her partner in order to carry the child out for nighttime feedings.

The CoZee comes in charcoal or oak and is a stylish addition to any bedroom. It looks more designer than the other cribs we've tested that are usually utilitarian. It's also relatively lightweight at just 11kg, and comes with a carrying case so you can carry it on vacation or if moving home. You'll need an extra waterproof sheet and safety strap for sleeping together. There are step-by-step directions and photos to help you put it together when you first open the box which makes it a one-person job when needed.

The Maxi-Cosi lora

The Iora is a bassinet that can be placed at the bedside that helps parents feel connected to their infant while they sleep. It adjusts upwards and downwards and moves through three slide positions to fit next to the parent's bed, or in the corner of the room so that the baby is always close at hand. The mesh siding is breathable, allowing air to circulate through and allows you to glance at your little one. You can also keep any extra pajamas or items in the large basket underneath.

As opposed to other bedside crib options The Iora can be folded flat and comes with a bag for travel to allow it to be carried anywhere. Our mom testers were able to move it from room to room and felt that it was a suitable size for a small bedside cot, not too big or small. They also liked the large storage basket perfect for storing nappies or bedding.

This is a great choice for parents who are looking to co-sleep but don't wish to share their beds or whose partners may be prone to mobility issues, such as arthritis or back pain. Our mum testers were thrilled to be able to easily access their baby while in the Iora and that it had an optional reflux incline that helped reduce gas.

that guy love the fact that it complies with NICE guidelines which state that you should place the infant in a crib or Moses basket on its own (with no blankets, toys, pillows, etc). The mattress is also sturdy and comfortable for babies, and sheets are easily available. It isn't as light as other cribs that are smaller however and if you're looking for something lighter and more portable, consider one of the other options on our list.
