Best 3 Wheel Pushchairs

All-terrain pushchair that offers lightweight durability and great maneuverability. Its compact one-hand fold means it's easy to move and is freestanding when folded. The padded seat reclines into a nearly flat position, and there's a large canopy and storage bin. The suitability for newborns is yes and with a separate carrycot (not suitable for sleeping overnight).

Good suspension and air-filled tyres can handle rough terrain. It's also suitable for jogging, although you should wait until your baby is six or nine months old for this.

Ickle Bubba XL Air

This pushchair from Ickle Bubba is an excellent option for parents looking for a lightweight buggy with enhanced features. It is a travel system, which includes a lie-flat carrycot suitable for newborns, a multi-position forward and rear facing pushchair as well as a choice of group 0+ car seats, so you can have everything in one package.

The XL Air is a very impressive buggy. It's easy to see why it's earned praise from customers. It's extremely light-weight The chassis and wheels weigh just 6.5kg. It's extremely easy to put together. In fact, I was able to put it up and running in less than five minutes, which is pretty amazing given that it included a strapping of the fabric for the carrycot!

It has a lovely, wide seat that was comfortable for Annie (who is 12 months) and the recline lever is very easy to use. The basket is spacious with plenty of space and I like that the handle bar comes with an area to keep your keys and phone secure.

The only issue is that the handlebar is quite low, which can be an issue for taller parents. However, it's encased with a luxurious leather-like material that is soft and comfortable and cleans down easily, so it's still a breeze to push with bags and children in your hands!

Hauck Pushchair Runner

The Runner is made for sporty parents who want to go out and explore. The large pneumatic wheels are able to be used on forest and field trails. The front wheel can be locked and swivels to allow for greater versatility. It also comes with a cushioned 5-point safety harness and a front bar to ensure your child is safe throughout your journey while the parking brake is able to stop the stroller from moving while you are taking a break. The seat can be adjusted to a laying position and the canopy can be opened to allow for maximum air circulation during hot days. The handle can be adjusted by more than 30 centimeters to accommodate dad's or mom's heights.

No matter if you're taking short jogs or a hike that lasts a while The Runner is ready to join you on all your adventures with a reclining, fully-flat seat and suspension air wheels that guarantee smooth, safe ride. The front wheel can be locked for more stability on narrow streets and overcrowded sidewalks and the stroller folds up easily to fit in car boots and storage spaces.

Some parents have found the Runner 2 to be a little more difficult to maneuver than its predecessor, and the locking system is less user-friendly (requiring two buttons on each side of the push bar). The handlebar is a little higher than the ones of competitors', so it might not work for smaller parents however, overall it's an extremely sturdy and flexible stroller that is worth a look for families with active children.

Red Kite Push Me Pace

The Pace is another great offering from Red Kite, an affordable British brand which is known for its easy-to-use and simple essentials for parents. It's the most recent - and priciest - version of their bargain light stroller range and as with the Ickle Bubba Aurora and Yoyo it's car seat-compatible so you can use it from the beginning (the carrycot folds away).

The new Pace features some stunning design elements, like the rose gold hue to the hood, chassis and stroller trims that truly distinguish it from its rivals. The grey, tan and cream fabrics in the stroller and the car seat are super stylish and there is an option to add the leather handle for the cover and bumper bar too.

The stroller seat can be used from birth until 22kg. It easily converts into a reversible 2-in-1 position, either parent-facing or facing the world. The stroller seat has multi lie back positions, soft padded leg rest support and has an extendable sun canopy with hidden zip sections, a through flaps and an retractable sun visor.

When folded in half, the Pace measures 56 32 x 43 cm which means it passes for hand luggage with Easyjet and Ryanair among others. Two buttons on either side are easy use and can be clicked to lock it in the right position.

Bugaboo Fox 5

Created to be the ultimate all-terrain stroller, Bugaboo's newest Fox 5 promises to do it all. Its unique chassis, which has a shorter wheel-distance makes it more mobile than its predecessor. three wheel pushchair tested it with my two children - one a toddler and another eight week old - over rocky pavements, grassy woodland walks and even cobblestones.

The large puncture-proof wheels - either 22cm or a bit larger - can handle different terrains. The wheels come with flaps that can be shut or opened to let more air in when required. It's a bit bigger than most pushchairs, but it isn't heavy or bulky when you push it over bumpy surfaces.

The seat fabric is machine washable, and the frame and faux leather grips are easy to clean. It's also quieter than other pushchairs, and I felt comfortable using it on busy city streets. A bonus feature is that it comes with accessory points, meaning you can add footmuffs, parasols, changing bags, and even a snack tray. The hood can be used to block out rain and wind, however it's not waterproof. It's a single pram, however, you can also attach their Comfort Wheeled Board (not included) to give your child a bit of legroom. It took around 20 minutes to assemble the bassinet, and the same amount of time to convert it into the seat.

UPPAbaby Ridge

No matter if you prefer a morning jog in the cool air or a stroll under the stars, the UPPAbaby Ridge makes every moment a fun-filled adventure. This stroller that is all-terrain designed to keep you and your child engaged.

The large 12" and 16" foam-filled tires offer a smooth ride, no matter the terrain. The patented suspension allows you to glide across woodland paths with minimal impact on your child's legs and rear. And the durable hand brake with a performance disc allows you to stop quickly, even when running downhill.

The Ridge is at its best in every city scene including bustling market stalls for farmers to street musicians performing music. Its large basket is big enough to hold your market finds and everything else your baby needs, while the roomy canopy offers sun and wind protection. The canopy's large front unzips to reveal two mesh windows that allow you to keep an eye on your child's surroundings.

The Ridge's reversible seat allows you to choose whether your child is facing you or the world in front. Its simple foot brake system makes it a breeze for new parents. The reversible handlebar is a great feature that lets you adjust it according to your height. In contrast to other strollers for jogging the Ridge folds stable and stays upright when folded.

iCandy Core

iCandy's new pushchair is truly revolutionary and has a lot of features that are likely to impress parents. It has a Multi-Mode Wheelbase and a revolutionary LED Visibility Hub Light that is an industry first. It has a built-in Ride-on Board which helps save on future costs and allows tired toddlers to accompany the family during outings.

The Core is available as either a travel system or single seat. It is compatible with the most popular car seats, including the ones from Cybex Maxi Cosi Joie. It is the largest seat unit of the iCandy line, which means you can use it for your baby's first years and beyond. Like all iCandy pushchairs it is beautifully constructed and comes with premium knitted jersey fabric. The child's bumper bar and the parent's adjustable handlebar are made of soft leatherette. The calf support folds away are also extremely comfortable for children.

I was amazed by the ease of fold and collapse - it only takes one hand with the seat unit on. It fits easily in your car or hallway which makes it perfect for travel. The iCandy Core includes a variety of accessories, such as the matching changing rucksack, or liner/footmuff.
