Why Buy a 3 Wheeler Buggy?

If you are a fan of running in the morning, the three-wheeled buggy could be a good choice for you. They come with larger wheels that offer a smoother and more comfortable ride, however they can be more bulky to store and require a bigger car boot.

If you're planning to take your pushchair outdoors, consider models with air-filled tires (also known by the name pneumatic). They can take on any terrain and include a the ability to have a front wheel lock to provide more stability.

What is a three-wheeler buggy?

A 3-wheeled buggy is excellent choice for off-roading or just navigating the city. They are easy to handle and change direction on the fly and have passed all tests of stability. The sling seat made of fabric is positioned snugly inside the frame and not on top of modular seats. This design results in a lower center of gravity, which makes it easier to push your buggy. Mountain Buggy(r) even has a world first sports verso(tm), a 3 wheeled inline chassis that grows with your family - from a parent's face infant carrier to toddler ride-on board.

Are 3 wheel buggy going to go 'off road'?

If you want to go on adventures and venture off the beaten track it is essential that your buggy can cope with rough terrain. You'll need a reliable suspension system that can absorb bumps and large wheels with air-filled tyres to give you a great grip on rough surfaces. A lockable front wheel is also a wonderful feature to ensure stability while running on rougher surfaces.

MFM reviewer Kath put this fun-loving buggy to the ultimate test by driving it over rough dirt tracks, cobbles, and grass with her baby and said that "it tackled all of these easily and was pleasant to run around in." The 16" rear wheels and the lockable "swivel" front wheel offer great stability for off-road paths or surfaces that are uneven. The tyres also come with springs built-in to ensure an easy ride.

A first in the world; sport verso is a brilliant single buggy that will ensure your budget is secure as it easily adapts to take 2 (or more!) If your family grows, you can still use the same buggy. The fabric sling seat fits perfectly inside the frame at the perfect height for optimal weight distribution, immediately giving you a much more comfortable push, a less hefty curb pop and better maneuverability on any terrain.

Do you want to 'do some sightseeing'?

A three-wheeler will have a single front wheel and two wheels in the back and, depending on the model, the wheel can be free to rotate or locked in place so that the buggy only moves in straight lines. Their USP is that they are incredibly manoeuvrable and easy to steer and they will often come with suspension (which can be useful in tricky terrain) and air-filled tyres so the ride is smooth and comfortable. They are perfect for daily use in the city and are often able to handle kerb popping as well as going off road.

However, as with any buggy, it is crucial to drive it safely and not be distracted by the mobile phone, tablet or other electronic device. Avoid driving while under the effects of alcohol or drugs because it can affect your judgment and reaction time. If you do have a car boot to store your buggy make sure you check the dimensions of its footprint when it is fully folded to ensure it will fit inside your car.

If you're looking for a buggy that will take you from the park to the shops then look for one that has large shopping baskets and great features like an upholstered handle, a strong brake pedal (that will stop on a slope) and a huge and extendable 50+ sun canopy. MFM reviewer Kath loved the sling made of fabric with an automatic lie-flat mattress for newborns. She also felt that the seating was placed perfectly within the frame to ensure a good weight distribution. However, she pointed out that a 4-wheeler would have more storage space.

Do you want to walk in the park Are you looking to go 'in the park'?

This 3-wheeler is ideal for urban adventures too, thanks to its superb maneuverability. MFM reviewer Kath tested it and found that it was able to navigate grass, bumpy sidewalks and cobbles with ease. It was also able to navigate the kerbs in town, as the fabric seat sling is positioned snugly within the frame at the perfect height for weight distribution.

The buggy can also be used to jog, since it has lockable swivel wheels on the front, and a'snug and stretch' tyre, which provides smooth riding. The only drawback of the large wheels is that it may struggle to fit into some more compact spaces when folded. It does have some impressive storage features to compensate for this! There's a large basket as well as a zip-up pocket at the back.
