The epson ecotank et 3850 is a cheap and cheerful four colour printer designed for home use. It uses Epson's innovative EcoTank refillable ink system, doing away with the wasteful and fiddly cartridges found in most other printers. It's also mobile-ready and voice-activated, and it has enough built-in ink to print a claimed 7,500 black pages or 6,000 colour pages. In our tests, the ET-3850 performed well in every area. It wasn't the fastest inkjet, but it certainly wasn't the slowest, and its quoted speed of 15.5ppm for mono printing is competitive with similar machines. Even when printing on plain paper, it produced pleasingly bold and dark text that was legible down to quite small point sizes, without any signs of smearing or blotting. We found that the ET-3850 was very easy to set up, thanks to a new companion app for Android and iOS devices which guides you through every step. It's also one of the more intuitively operated machines we've tested recently, as you can use your smartphone as the interface rather than the tilting control panel. However, typing in passwords to connect it to Wi-Fi can be a bit tedious using only the keyboard on your phone, especially if you've used a good password manager to create complex and long passwords. This model is a little larger than some other A4 all-in-one printers, but it hides most of its bulk well. It's almost cuboidal in shape, with the front-facing display and the tilting ADF document scanner blending seamlessly into its design. It's relatively light at 6.7kg before adding ink and paper, so most adults should be able to carry it from room to room without too much effort. Unlike some cheaper all-in-ones, the ET-3850 doesn't include a touchscreen or an Ethernet port. However, làm nón b?o hi?m theo yêu c?u does support direct printing from USB flash drives, as well as Apple AirPrint and Google Cloud Print. It has a reasonable output quality too, with accurate if slightly understated colours and a good range of shades across darker prints. xu?ng in mu b?o hi?m did notice, though, that the ET-3850's dye-based inks left bigger pigment particles on the surface of glossy photo papers, spoiling the finish and detracting from colour accuracy. As with all our printers, the ET-3850 was evaluated against a number of criteria to determine its overall score. We looked at things such as the clarity of black text (in terms of how crisp and clearly it was printed), the quality of photo prints, the speed at which we were able to print six 6 x 4in photos, and the ease with which we could print borderless photos. You can find more details of our evaluation methodology and how we rank printers in the table below. The best printers are those that get the most of our criteria right. Read on to discover our picks for the best all-in-one printers. Then, you can compare their scores and prices to choose the best for your needs.
