Top Robot Vacuums and Mop Combos

While robots aren't able to replace a traditional vacuum in removing ground-in debris such as metal screws and chunks of orzo pasta, they are excellent at sweeping crumbs, dust and hair from pets. The most effective models come with intelligent navigation technology and a feature to avoid objects that help them maneuver around toys, cords and other obstacles in the household.

1. Roomba iRobot i3+ from iRobot EVO

The iRobot Roomba i3+ is an excellent robot vacuum with several smart features that make it easier to maintain. The automatic bin emptying feature is among the best features we've ever seen in a robot vacuum. It works well on both carpets and hard floors. It's also easy to set up and operate, with the app guiding you step-by-step through the procedure. Another notable feature is the ability to return to the spot where it left off in our tests--it did this for 77 mins on one cleaning before running out of battery.

The i3+ EVO, unlike some of the other robot vacuums we have tested, comes with a self-emptying bin that automatically disposes of debris in an external dirt compartment located on its charging base when it's full. The i3+ EVO is able to prevent overfilling with a self-emptying bin. However, it must still be emptied manually at the end of each cleaning session. The i3+ EVO's built-in dust bin holds 2.4L of debris and is more than enough to last four or five cleaning sessions before you have to replace it.

Like the i7, utilizes state-of-the-art floor-tracking sensors to produce maps. It can also allow you to navigate through neat rows. The i3+ EVO can only store one map, while the i7 can store multiple. The i7's map is used to create virtual barriers and no-go zones but not for the i3+ EVO.

Although the i3+ EVO is more effective at picking up debris on surfaces than the other robovacs we looked at but it's not the best when it comes to cleaning corners and edges. It's also not as gentle on furniture, despite being fairly quiet. It pulled chairs away from walls and made some collisions with the sides of our bed, and it became stuck on cords and toys while testing.

2. Black & Decker Q5 Pro

If you're looking to expand your collection of robot vacuums, or are just starting out using one, the Q5 Pro is a great choice. It packs powerful power, a smart navigation system and a user-friendly automation into a slick design for a reasonable price. It's the most efficient pound-for pound model on sale right now and even beats Roborock's higher-priced models in a variety of ways.

This robot is fantastic in cleaning floors that are dirty, and its avoidance tech helps it to steer away from furniture legs or other obstacles. It also performs well on carpet and earns an excellent score in our tests of navigation. The only drawback is that it's louder than other models and doesn't do as well in our satisfaction of the owner and predicted reliability assessments.

The Q5 Pro has a very large dust bin of 770ml which means you won't have to empty it as often as other 2-in-1 robots. Its 240-minute runtime is also extremely generous when compared to other models we've tested. When the battery is low, it will automatically return to its dock, where it recharges and then resumes cleaning where it began. You can control the Q5 Pro via the app and use voice commands with Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant.

This is one of the first robots we've seen incorporate 3D mapping. This, in conjunction with other innovations, helps it excel in our vacuuming and mopping tests. You can schedule cleanings or set up no-go zones. You can also check the battery status. The app is simple to use, but it does not support Apple HomeKit. That feature is scheduled to be added in 2025. Apple updated its website's footnote in early November to reflect that the feature was delayed until 2025. Several other robots don't work with HomeKit However, many of them are compatible with Siri Shortcuts.

3. TP-Link Tapo RV30 Plus

The TP-Link Tapo R30 Plus robot vacuum cleaner is a great option if you're searching for a machine that can mop as well and is priced reasonably. It comes with a plethora of features at a reasonable price and has a chic design. You can control it using the buttons on the device using the app, or even by using voice commands. The device is powered by batteries, and the vacuum container can automatically empty itself.

The TP-Link RV30 Plus is a excellent vacuum cleaner that can handle standard mess. It can also be used to mop lightly on hard floors. It comes with a new sweeping brush and mopping cloth, as well as a HEPA-filter. It can be used in conjunction with a smart home hub like Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant for easy voice control. The TP-Link RV30 Plus is easy to set up and is connected to a range of floor surfaces with the automatic mode. This will ensure the best cleaning results for every room and floor type.

You can select from three cleaning modes that will meet your requirements. The vacuuming mode is a thorough cleaning of the room. It makes use of the smart sensor to detect edges furniture, stairs, furniture and other obstacles. The mopping mode is used to clean the floor in a systematic manner or to remove the stubborn stains and liquid spills. You can combine the two functions to get an efficient and thorough cleaning.

The TP Link RV30 Plus features an impressive suction and 3 settings for dry mopping, and can swiftly remove dust, pet hairs, crumbs, and other debris from any flooring type. It can clean carpets without damaging the material because of specially designed mops.

During its first mapping run, TP-Link RV30 Plus scans your home and saves it by using its dual navigation system of LiDAR and Gyro. You can alter the map in the app and merge or split rooms based on your preference. You can also create virtual walls and no-go zones to stop the RV30 Plus from wandering into areas that you don't want it be in.

4. Eufy iMop

The Eufy iMop robot vacuum and mop is among the best full-featured robots for hard flooring. It features a high-tech navigation system that does an excellent job of mapping your home's layout even across multiple floors. And the extremely well-designed base station virtually automates the cleaning process. It also provides incredible obstacles-avoiding and navigation.

This model makes use of an internal dToF LiDAR sensor to map your home, creating efficient cleaning routes. The iMop was a winner in our assessment of the effectiveness of navigation and coverage and was also good at eliminating obstacles, like furniture. It is also able to find its way back to the base station in case it is unable to recharge its batteries during cleaning.

It also comes with a spot cleaning mode that allows you to clean or mop the specific area of your floor. It can also be programmed manually to follow a specific route. This is ideal for narrow stairs or hallways. It did a decent job of cleaning carpets in our carpet cleaning test however it had a difficult time with longer pile carpets and rug. It can be set up to lift the mop pad when it comes into contact with carpet. This is an excellent feature for those who wish to avoid having to mop their carpets.

The iMop comes with an onboard dustbin as well as a water tank, which it is empty at the conclusion of each cleaning session. The dust bin that is onboard can hold up to 2.5 liters of debris and is only required to be emptying it every few cleaning cycles. The water tank can withstand up to a dozen mopping cycles before it runs dry. The iMop requires less maintenance and cleaning than the standard robot vacuum, which can be a major selling point for busy families.

The iMop smartphone app is simple to use and offers a wide range of configuration options. It has multiple suction modes, mopping settings and scheduling. It allows you to create virtual walls, no-go zones and other limitations to ensure that your robot doesn't wander into areas that aren't safe for it. In addition, the app provides access to your iMop's status as well as errors messages.
