The EV Star REEFERX was developed for mid-to-last mile refrigerated deliveries as well as catering applications. The ride is smooth over bumps and ruts, while the EV9 does an excellent job of suppressing wind and road noise on the highway. The acceleration of the vehicle is astonishingly fast, and it comes with adjustable regenerative brakes that allow "one-pedal driving" simply by releasing the accelerator. GreenPower is currently producing around 10 EV Star buses per month for the Jacksonville Transit Authority, which is attempting to replace their fleet of older diesel vehicles with 100 electric vehicles. With the Biden Administration aiming to electrify school buses nationwide, GreenPower plans on ramping production to meet demand. Their EV Star bus is the first of its kind to be tested in Altoona and FMVSS-certified, Buy America compliant and ADA conforming. This will make them eligible for federal transit grants.
