Pragmatics and Semantics Many modern philosophical perspectives are based on semantics. Brandom for instance is a focus on the significance of words (albeit from a pragmatic point of view). Despite these challenges, pragmatism continues its growth in global popularity. It is a third option to analytic and Continental philosophical traditions, and has many practical applications. It is a rapidly growing field of inquiry. Many schools of thought have emerged and incorporated elements of pragmatism within their own philosophy.
