Goethe-Zertifikat A1 (Start German 1) Exam Schedule The official list below only shows time periods that are reserved and not confirmed exams. Please confirm with your instructor if a course has its final exam during this time. The nature and degree of these requirements must be declared on the registration form and confirmed by an attestation from a doctor. The locations of the exam must adhere to confidentiality. The test is a written test that measures your ability to read and write German. The results of the exam are presented on a scale from A1 to C2. Students who pass the exam receive an Goethe-Zertifikat. The certificate certifies that the student has reached the level of A1 in their language. This level is the initial stage of the six-level scale of competence that is set out in the Common European Framework of Reference for Foreign Languages. The examination is free of charge. Students must bring a valid government-issued ID to the test. If they do not present a valid photo ID are disqualified from the examination. Fees If you have completed your studies at Elan Academy and wish to obtain the Goethe-Zertifikat A1 (start German 1), you must pay the examination fee. This is in addition to the course fee. Practice tests give you an overview of the style and wording, as well as the difficulty of the questions on the exam.
