Buy a B197 Driving License Without an Exam

The B197 Driving Licence program blends manual instruction with automated training. This means that even when you pass your driving test in an automated vehicle, you are able to drive manual vehicles afterwards without any limitations.


The course comprises a minimum of 12 driving lessons that last 45 minutes each. You can then obtain your Class B driving license in no time.

How do I obtain an B197 license?

The B197 driving license allows youngsters who are less than 18 years old and have completed their driver's education (classes B or BE) to drive both auto and manual vehicles. In order to get a B197 license the applicant must complete 12 double-leaps of practical and theory. They also have to attend a safety course and have their vision tested. The Snellen chart is used to perform the standardised eye test. The examiner will assess the ability of the applicant to differentiate different letters or numbers at an appropriate distance.

The applicant is then required to take a 10-hour course of practice runs using a shift car. Then, they must pass the test on the spot and then submit the certificate of their driving school to the driving license office. Once all this is done then the driver is now able to be able to drive both automatic and manual automobiles without restrictions.

Previously, those who wanted to obtain an driving license for a car could only do it with an automatic vehicle. If they failed their driving test then an "78" note would appear on their driver's license which made it impossible for them to drive manual vehicles. The B197 license permits them to add the mandatory hours of training in manual vehicles to their automatic only license.

What are the requirements?

The new regulation 197 allows you to get a driving license without taking an exam before April 2021. There are certain requirements you must satisfy. The most crucial requirement is to attend a training course. You must sign up for this course no later than six months before your 17th birthday. The course is split into 12 double lessons in theory and 2 more practical lessons. The training should include at minimum 10 special drives.

A manual transmission test is also required. It is not an examination however, it is it is a 15-minute test where you demonstrate your capability to operate a car with a manual transmission. The driving school confirms this with an official certificate and adds the key number 197 on your driver's license. You are now legally able to drive any car with a manual gearbox anywhere in the world.

Another crucial requirement is to pass the vision test. This consists of reading the letters or numbers on a chart placed in front of your face at a specific distance. The test is built on the Snellen chart that was designed by a German doctor. Additionally, the test is designed to evaluate your peripheral vision, which means you can detect things that are situated outside of your field of view.

If you'd like to drive with a B197 license you can also obtain one without taking the theory test and the practical test. If you have an driving license from another country, and have lived in Germany for at minimum two years, it is possible. It is important to keep in mind that a B197 license allows you to drive only cars with manual transmissions. The exception is if you hold a car driving license class B that is valid only in Germany and only if you present the driver's school certificate and evidence of your participation in the driving training to the authority that issues driving licences in charge of your place of residence.

It is important to prepare. You should practice driving with your instructor, and be sure to know all the rules before your test. It is also a good idea to prepare yourself by studying the types of questions you might be asked in your exam. This will help you respond quickly and accurately. If you aren't sure of an answer, don't be afraid to ask your exam instructor for clarification. Arrive early at the test center and unwind before the exam. This will allow you to review your notes and relax before you drive.

In the past the majority of instruction took place in automatic vehicles so that you could focus on the traffic without having to worry about shifting gears. Since the introduction of the key number B197 it is now possible to take the driving test in a manual vehicle.

You can do this by adding 10 more training hours in a manual vehicle to your total driving hours. Then, bring these documents to the driving license office when you are applying for your license. This can be done before you take the practical and theory tests.

You must also pass a vision test. The test will test your ability to discern numbers and letters at a distance using the Snellen chart. They'll also test your peripheral vision to ensure you are able to discern what's happening around you. This is part of every driving test. You'll need to bring your driving license and the official proof of your participation from the driver training course to the test center. Be sure to arrive early to complete all forms prior to your appointment. Then, you will be issued temporary driving licenses on the spot. Your permanent license will be handed over in a couple of weeks.
