3 Wheel All Terrain Pushchair

A pushchair that is all-terrain and has outstanding maneuverability will work whether you are searching for a buggy for woodland walks or an excursion on the high streets. These models typically come with large wheels and a suspension system that provides a smooth ride on rough terrain.

The majority are suitable for infants and include seats that can be positioned flat or a newborn carrycot. These vehicles also have tyres that never flatten, usually made of foam.

Suspension

A genuine all-terrain pushchair has a great suspension which is designed to be extra smooth on rough terrain and help your child to feel comfortable and relaxed. The wheels are usually large and puncture-proof to protect against injuries from sharp sticks or rocks.

Some all-terrain strollers also allow you to switch between different tyres to suit the conditions. Depending on the kind of terrain you want to explore, some all-terrain pushchairs have a swivel front wheel which can be locked for stability, or unlocked to allow for more maneuverability when required.

A few all-terrain strollers include an adjustable brake handbrake that locks and is easier to reach using your hands. This is more convenient than an ordinary pedal on the handlebars. This is a fantastic feature to have if you want to take on steep hills, especially with children in the seat and lots of shopping bags hidden underneath!

There are many strollers that offer decent off-road capability, but not the ultimate. They also have big wheels and great suspension. 3 wheel buggy tend to be less expensive than full-on all terrain buggy models and can work well for short strolls in the countryside or trips to the park.

A lot of strollers are suitable for babies with either a carrycot or a car seat that is designed for babies. Be aware that when pushing over bumps and dips the seats will not lie completely flat. According to EU regulations, they have to meet minimum standards for a reclining position of about 150deg. Certain brands, like Graco have gotten around this with their new "comfitech" in-seat suspension that allows the seat to recline at a slightly more flatter angle for a little more comfort. 3 wheeled pushchair is available on the Lila XP All-Terrain Pushchair, which can be paired with a compatible Graco Infant Car Seat to create a 3-in-1 travel system.

Seat

There is a broad selection of all-terrain pushchairs with three wheels available that offer an excellent off-road capability. They are perfect if reside in the countryside or walk regularly on uneven, rough terrain. They are often more robust and durable than a standard pushchair, and come with features like large wheels that are puncture-proof to withstand the toughest of surfaces. They are often quite wide and are difficult to maneuver in tight spaces or in aisles of shops.

The seat of an all-terrain buggy may be a parent or world facing and expands with your child, from infant to toddler (it's suitable for children as young as 6 months). However, the Oyster 3, Venicci Tanum and egg 2, which offer this option, have a good weight limit and a high level of off-road capability. A lot of pushchairs are categorized as all-rounders. These include the iCandy Pear, Bugaboo Cameleon and others. Some of the best ones are manufactured by brands like iCandy Easywalker and Bugaboo.

Wheels

If you reside in a rural area or regularly take your baby on walks over rough ground, an all-terrain pushchair is essential. These models have bigger wheels on the back than normal pushchairs, allowing them to withstand bumpy terrain better and provide an easier ride for your child. Many models also have a durable suspension and are puncture-proof, which means they can be used on woodland paths, forest paths, gravel roads, and market town cobbles.

Some all-terrain strollers also have a lockable wheel on the front, which gives extra stability when walking on rough terrain or high kerbs. Some have swivel wheels on the front, which allow you to move the buggy with ease if you want to change direction or turn corners.

Most all-terrain pushchairs feature air-filled tyres, which provide excellent shock absorption and are great for rough terrain but they're more prone to punctures than the solid EVA tyres found on city strollers, so it's worth buying repair kits along with a spare inner tube and pump for your pushchair. three wheel pushchair have foam tyres which are less prone to puncture but could be more difficult to push.

The new Bugaboo Fox 5 pushchair is an excellent model of a stroller which includes both foam and air filled tyres. It also features an excellent suspension and large rear wheels that are puncture proof and suitable for off-road use or jogging (once your child reaches an appropriate age). This model can be used even from birth with a carrycot and an incline-flat chair.

The iCandy Peach All-Terrain is another option. It has large tyres, a single steering-wheel in the front and big tyres. It's not as flexible like the other all-terrain pushchairs on this list, but it does handle the terrain that is hilly and has an ample one-handed fold, which is perfect if you're planning to use the pushchair for long walks or trips to the countryside. Stores

There are some excellent all-terrain pushchairs that are ideal for parents who would like to take their child off-road, but don't wish to tackle Ben Nevis. They provide the best of both. The hood can be removed, and washed with cool soapy-water to keep out mould and mildew.

If you are planning to take your all-terrain stroller off-road, opt for air-filled tires rather than rubber grips. These will provide a smoother ride over rough terrain and will make it easier to navigate through tight spaces. If you are planning to use your all-terrain stroller for occasional jogging, make sure the front wheel is able to swivel or features a quick release mechanism to lock it in place to give you more stability.

It is important to verify that the fabric of your pushchair to ensure it can be machine washed to maintain them in pristine condition. If not, a spot cleaning with soapy water, warm, and warm water should suffice. Drying the fabric thoroughly outdoors will also help prevent the growth of mould and mildew.

The majority of our 3 wheel pushchairs are suitable for use from birth.
