UPVC Replacement Door Handles

Over time the handles on your doors will get worn out and need to be changed. When replacing them, it is essential that the new handles conform to the exact dimensions of the previous handle.

The top screw position as well as the lever and keyhole sizes are the three measurements you need to check. Use the size guide to aid you.

Inline Lever/Lever

A lever door handle is a modern handle that can be put in on replacement or new doors. This style of handle is available in various styles and finishes. A number of manufacturers offer this type of handle, including Avocet ERA, Fullex, Hoppe, Mila, Millenco & Yale.

Fab and Fix Windsor Inline Sprung Lever Door Handle

The uPVC/Composite handles are made of tough materials and are perfect for doors with multiple points that require a robust design. The handles are inline and work with the same spindle as well as screw fixings, so they are easily installed on new or existing uPVC/Composite doors.

The handle can be placed and angled to suit the needs of all users. The handle has been tested for endurance up to 200,000 cycles, which helps to ensure the quality of the finish as well as the performance of the handle over time. The lever that is sprung can be cut to fit the widest range of locks. This is particularly useful in doors that are narrower, where the cylinder is situated further back from the door. A shorter lever is an excellent option for doors where the latch could be opened by a thumb turn located on the inside.

Lever Pad

A Lever Pad upvc door handle operates differently than lever handles found on most doors. These handle types can either work off one single spindle (inline) or independently from each side using two inline or offset spindles (pad). They are typically utilized on UPVC doors with double glazing. They are available in a range of finishes & variations.

The handles are available in a variety of finishes including White Chrome and Gold. The finish meets BS EN 1670:2007 Grade 5 and is also resistant to corrosion, giving the handle a high degree of durability and performance for the intended use.

All of the UPVC lever pad styles for handles come with screws and a spindle which allow them to be put on an existing or new uPVC door. The backplate fixing centres of 211mm permit a bigger handle, which can often be a benefit in replacing a defective or worn multi-point door lock mechanism. These levers for handles are also spring-loaded, which solves the issue of handles hanging out of their horizontal position when they are not in use.

When choosing a replacement UPVC handle and spindle it is crucial to match the PZ dimensions of the multipoint lock as well as the uPVC door. This measurement can also be called 'handle centre or cylinder centres'. It is important to match the correct handles.

Once you have decided on the proper PZ size and the correct PZ size, you must ensure that the lever and push pads are shaped to fit the American with Disabilities Act compliant handles that you need for your door. They typically have a square or round design with an internal lever as well as an external push pad.

The majority of UPVC Lever Pads we offer are spring-loaded. This means they can be reverted to a horizontal state when not in use, rather than hanging and possibly securing to the frame. This stops draughts from entering the home. The majority of UPVC lever pad handles are available in left and right handed versions which allows them to be put on either side of doors.

Euro Cylinder

Cylinder locks are typically used on uPVC doors, but can also be found on other types of door. They operate with a key to unlock a cylinder that will reveal pins that can be aligned with the pins in the lock body and allow them to rotate an revolving cam, opening the door. Euro Cylinders are available with up to six pins. External and internal doors require different levels of security.

Selecting the right cylinder for your needs is crucial; it is dependent on the way your door and handle are utilized. For example, external doors require a more secure cylinder while internal doors can be secured using an ordinary cylinder. Certain cylinders come with extra features that increase security, such as anti drill or anti bump properties.

hatfield door handle replacement needs to be measured accurately to ensure it's the right size for your door. The cylinder must be measured from the screw hole in the center to the ends of the cylinder. This includes the thumb turn, if there is one. It is recommended to do this with the lock in place, but when this isn't possible, you may remove it to measure. It is crucial to ensure that there is no cylindrical lock that extends beyond the handle or escutcheon. This could make it vulnerable to lock snapping attacks.

Most modern cylinders are made with bump and anti-drill features included in their design. They are designed to minimize attack chances by forcing the cylinders to turn in a different direction. This can help stop the attack and ensure your doors are secure.

Certain cylinders are constructed to withstand snapping. This is a common attack on cylinders. A specially designed tool is used to break the break line of the lock, and then the front of the cylinder is snapped off. This is faster and more straightforward than opening a multipoint lock and leaves no evidence of a break-in, which can hinder the insurance claim.

Spring Cassette

This spring cassette sits within the base of your door handle backplate providing a sprung solution to return the multipoint lock handles back to their normal position after usage. These handles used to have no spring and would drop when the locking mechanism was disconnected. The addition of this simple element is one of the most effective ways to fix this, and is an effective way to keep your doors made of upvc from getting stuck in the open or closed position, since they are not always easy to manually close by hand.

These spring cassettes are specifically made for use with multipoint locks that are sprung They will not work with unsprung multipoint handles and you will require a custom hole cut into the backplate to allow them to fit (please look at the image for a technical diagram).
