Tunnel Containers

As the name suggests, the key feature of tunnel containers is the dual-door design on each side of the container. This greatly improves access, making tunnel containers ideal for storage and handling.

They can also be converted into self-storage units by adding a partition. We have also assisted customers make use of them to house plant machinery and provide secure access to the site with turnstiles.

Dual Access

A tunnel container is an altered version of a standard shipping container with double doors at both ends. They are also referred to as a "double door end container" or a "tunnel-shaped container". They allow access to the storage items on both ends.

Dual-end access permits cargo to be unloaded or loaded at either end of the container. This is perfect for transporting heavier or bigger items that need to be removed from and into the box. The double-end access also eliminates the need to unload the entire container to access the items stored within, which can be time-saving and minimizes the risk of damage during transportation.

This clever feature is what makes these tunnel containers so versatile and flexible. They can be used for a diverse variety of storage and transportation requirements, including being transformed into living spaces or mobile offices. They are made of durable, corrosion resistant Corten steel and are able to stand up to the most severe weather conditions.

If you're looking for a more secure solution, we can weld steel bulkheads onto one of the long sides, creating two storage compartments that measure 10 feet. Self-storage companies can make use of them to separate their customers' belongings into distinct areas, thereby increasing security. Our double-end door containers are a favorite for large events as ticket entrances because they can handle long lines of people and keep them dry.

Our 20ft double-door tunnel containers come with fork pockets that are suitable for industrial forklifts. COG Containers LTD means that they can easily be stacked or lifted from the corners of each long side. These units are also equipped with heaters and PIR insulation making them ideal for storage during the entire year.

We can make tunnel containers in custom sizes to meet your exact requirements if you require an even more customized solution. We can make tunnel containers with single or double-sided designs, and different lengths. Custom-sized tunnel containers are more expensive than regular shipping containers, so we recommend selecting the most suitable size that meets your needs.

Temperature-Sensitive Goods

Most dangerous goods including explosives, flammable liquids, and organic peroxides, require storage at the right temperature. Temperature fluctuations can alter their stability and cause explosion or release of toxic fumes. When storing temperature-sensitive hazardous goods, it's essential that container terminal facilities are equipped with the appropriate monitoring equipment to track and identify any anomalies or deviations from set temperatures.

These fluctuations are often difficult to detect, especially during the busy hours of a day. Container terminals should have a system to monitor the temperature of all reefer containers within their facility. This enables personnel to respond quickly to any abnormalities and prevent any risks.

Tunnel containers are a practical option when it comes to transporting and storing temperature-sensitive goods. They are designed with double doors at both ends, which enhances accessibility and expedites loading and unloading operations during transportation and warehousing. They can be used to store large objects like vehicles or machinery.

The modified containers are typically made from a standard 20ft or 40ft shipping container, the solid end is taken away and a new set of double doors welded in place, creating two-way access. These modified containers are typically used on construction sites where heavy machinery must be passed over and under.

Some container terminals even transform their tunnel shipping containers to serve as a secure site entrance by installing a turnstile or manually-operated security checkpoints as visitors go through. These conversions, not available in standard sizes, can be easily modified to meet the specific needs. They are also less expensive than building a whole facility. Tunnel containers are generally only available in a 'new one-time use condition. This is because the owners build them for a specific purpose and then hold on to them for a period of time. This makes them a highly sought after product for those who want to increase their business or storage capacity for warehouses without having to invest in a brand new refrigerated facility. They are also a very economical solution for those who want to store temperature-sensitive goods over long periods of time, or for transporting large volumes of cargo over long distances.

Convenient Storage

If you're looking for storage for your cargo, tunnel containers are a convenient option. These containers have double doors at both ends, unlike the typical dry storage container that only has one door. This lets you access your storage container on either side. This makes it easier to load and unload items.

This dual entry point is particularly useful when storing goods that require frequent access, for example, machinery and equipment. It means that you don't have to constantly reverse vehicles into and out of the container, which could cause damage to your vehicle as well as the container.

You can also use a tunnel container to store items that you need to keep at a particular temperature. The thermal and refrigerated tunnel containers are ideal for this since they have temperature controls that will ensure the goods stored inside are kept at a certain temperature.

In addition to allowing easy access to the inside of a tunnel container, it is an ideal solution for a garage or workshop as it permits you to easily access every area of your workspace without having to move things around. Two doors at either end let you quickly get into and out of your storage container when needed.

One-trip tunnel containers can be built from scratch with two sets of double doors, or adapted from a standard shipping container. In the second scenario, the solid end is removed from the container, and a pair of double doors is welded to each end.

The shipping containers are generally only available in brand new one-trip condition, because their owners have designed them for a specific purpose and won't want to sell them on. Some companies offer renovated tunnel containers. The recycled containers have been checked to ensure they are safe to transport and are sold with a longer warranty for additional security.

Easy Transportation

The double cargo doors on both ends of tunnel containers allow you to easily unload and load items from either end. They are perfect for transporting bulk and general cargo, as well as specific items such as automobiles or motorbikes. These containers are often used to create temporary tunnels on construction sites due to their durability, safety and ease in modification.

Shipping Containers with double doors are extremely useful for storage. The ability to access both sides of the container means that there is no need to completely unload the goods or remove a section of the container in order to access the stuff stored in the back, which could save time and money. The doors at both ends can be locked to stop unauthorized access.

They're extremely sturdy, and due to being constructed of corten steel they're built to withstand tough weather conditions. They're wind and watertight and have ventilation to ensure that there is enough airflow. These features can protect goods from moisture, making it less likely for them to suffer from loss and spoilage.

You can pick from a range of options for a container tunnel based on your needs. Open top containers, for instance they have bow-tops that can be removed to enable loading large and heavy cargo easier. Side-open containers have doors on the sides, which makes them ideal for storage of small items. A refrigerated ISO container, or reefer, has a regulated temperature and can be used to store temperature-sensitive goods.

They are available in new and refurbished models in sizes 20ft and fortyft with doors at both ends to facilitate loading. These containers can be customized to meet your requirements but will cost more than a standard double-end door container.
