Best 3 Wheel Pushchairs

All-terrain pushchair that provides light weight and excellent maneuverability. The compact fold with one hand makes it easy to carry. It can also stand on its own when folded. The padded seat reclines into an almost flat position and there is a large canopy and storage bin. Baby-friendly? Yes and with a carrycot.

Air-filled tyres and a good suspension will handle rough terrain well. You can also use it to jog. However, pram with 3 wheels must wait until the baby is at minimum 6 or 9 months old.

Ickle Bubba XL Air

This pushchair from Ickle Bubba is a brilliant option for parents looking for an easy-to-use buggy that has enhanced features. It comes as an all-in-one travel system that includes a lie-flat carrycot for infants, a movable forward and rear-facing pushchair seat, and a choice of a group 0+ car seat, meaning you can get everything in one package.

The XL Air is a really impressive buggy, and it's easy to see why it has been awarded so many praises from customers. It is extremely light with the chassis and wheels weigh just 6.5kg. It is extremely easy to put together. In fact I was able to get the whole thing up and running in less than five minutes, which is pretty impressive considering it included a strapping of the fabric for the carrycot!

It has a nice wide, comfortable seat that was comfortable for Annie (who is 12 months old) and the recline lever is very simple to use. The basket has plenty of space and I am impressed that the handle bar comes with a pocket to keep your keys and phone secure.

The only issue is that the handlebar is quite low, which can be an issue for taller parents. It's covered with a soft, comfortable leather-like material, and is easy to clean.

Hauck Pushchair Runner

The Runner is a great choice for parents who love to explore and are always on the move. The large pneumatic wheels are designed to be used on forest and field paths and the front wheel can be swivelled and locked to give you more flexibility. It also comes with a cushioned 5-point safety harness as well as a front bar to ensure your child is safe throughout your journey and the parking brake reliably prevents the stroller from moving even when you take a break. The seat can be adjusted to lay flat and the canopy can be opened to allow maximum air circulation on hot days. The handle can be adjusted by more than 30cm to fit the needs of dad or mum.

No matter if you're taking short jogs or a long hike The Runner is ready to accompany you on your journeys with a reclining, fully-flat seat and suspension air wheels that guarantee an unhurried ride. The front wheel can be locked for greater stability on narrow streets or overcrowded sidewalks. The stroller can also fold up to fit in car boot spaces and storage areas.

Some parents have found the Runner 2 to be a bit harder to navigate than its predecessor and the locking system is less user-friendly (requiring two buttons on each side of the push bar). The handlebar is higher than the ones of competitors which means it might not work for smaller parents, but overall this is an extremely sturdy and flexible stroller that's worth a look for families with active children.

Red Kite Push Me Pace

Red Kite's Pace is a top product from the budget-friendly British brand. They are renowned for their simple, well-designed products that are essential to parents. It's their newest and most expensive addition to the bargain lightweight stroller line. Similar to the Ickle Bubba Aurora or Yoyo it's car seat compatible so you can use it from the time of birth.

The new Pace has some amazing design features, including a rose gold tint to the hood, chassis and stroller trims, which truly distinguish it from its competition. The cream, grey, and tan fabrics in the stroller and the car seat are super elegant and there is an option to add an coordinating handle for the cover and bumper bar as well.

The stroller seat is used from birth up to a maximum weight of 22kg. It easily converts into a 2-in-1 reversible position, either parent-facing or facing the world. The stroller seat features several lie-back positions, plus soft padded legs rests, and an extended sun canopy with zip-off sections that are concealed, a viewing see-through flap, and a retractable visor.

When folded in half, the Pace is 56 33 x 43 x 32cm, which means it can be used as hand luggage with Easyjet and Ryanair among other carriers. It's also a breeze to collapse, with two buttons on the handlebar's opposite side that you can click into and pop up.

Bugaboo Fox 5,

Bugaboo's Fox 5 is designed to be the ultimate all-terrain stroller. Its unique chassis features a shorter wheel distance, making it more manoeuvrable than its predecessor. I tested it alongside my two kids - one a toddler and another eight-week-old - on the rocky roads, grassy woodland walks and even cobblestones.

The puncture-proof wheels are huge in size - 22cm and a whopping 30cm - therefore they are able to handle all kinds of terrain. The wheels have an opening that can be closed or opened to let air in when needed. It's a bit bigger than other pushchairs, but it doesn't feel bulky or heavy when you push it across bumpy surfaces.

The fabric of the seat is machine washable, as are the frame and faux leather grips are easy to wipe down. It's also quieter than other pushchairs, and I felt safe using it in busy city streets. One of the advantages is that it has integrated accessory points, meaning you can add footmuffs parasols, changing bags and even a tray for snacks. You can also use the hood to block out rain and wind, though it's not particularly waterproof. The single pram can be outfitted with the Comfort Wheeled Board (not included) which allows your child more legroom. The bassinet took about 20 minutes to set-up, and it took about the same amount of time to convert it into a seat.

UPPAbaby Ridge

No matter if you're enjoying an early morning run under the stars or a moonlit walk in the cool air, the UPPAbaby Ridge transforms every moment into a shared one. This all-terrain stroller was designed to keep both you and your child engaged.

The large foam-filled 12" and 16 "tires give you a smooth ride no matter the terrain. The suspension system that is patent-pending allows you to glide effortlessly on trails in the woods, while minimizing impact on the legs and back of your child. The performance disc handbrake lets you stop quickly even while jogging down an uphill slope.

From bustling farmers markets to street musicians performing a tune The Ridge can navigate all your favorite city scenes effortlessly. The spacious basket can accommodate your shopping cart and all of your baby's essentials while the large canopy provides sun and wind protection. The canopy's large front unzips to reveal two mesh windows that make it easy to monitor your little one's surroundings.

The Ridge's reversible seating allows you to decide if your child is facing you or the world that lies ahead, and its simple foot brake system is easy for parents who are new. The reversible handlebar is wonderful feature that lets you adjust it according to your height. The Ridge's fold, unlike many jogging strollers is reliable and self-standing when folded.

iCandy Core

The new iCandy pushchair is packed with features that will impress parents. It has a Multi-Mode wheelbase and LED Visibility Hub light, which is an industry first. It comes with an integrated Ride-on Board that saves on future costs and lets tired toddlers join the family on outings.

The Core is available as a travel system or a single seat. It is compatible with the most popular car seats, including those from Cybex Maxi Cosi Joie. It has the largest seat unit of the iCandy line, meaning you can use it for your baby's first year and beyond. Like all iCandy pushchairs it is beautifully designed and is made of premium knitted jersey fabric. The child's adjustable bumper bar and the handlebar that parents can adjust are made of soft leatherette. The fold-away calf supports are also extremely comfortable for children.

I was awed by how easy it is to fold and collapse. It only takes one hand, even with the seat unit on. It can easily fit in your hallway or boot, making it ideal for travel. The iCandy Core comes with lots of additional accessories, including an rucksack that matches the colour of your choice and a liner/footmuff.
