What is the Audi Advanced Key?

Audi puts a premium on comfort and ease of use. That's why all new models we display have keyless entry and starting. This allows you to get into your car and start driving, while keeping your key fob inside your pocket or in your purse.

This system operates through proximity sensors located in the doors and trunks, paired with the key radio pulse generator within the key fob. Here are a few points you need to know about Audi Advanced Key.

1. Proximity Detection

Audi proximity detection enables you to begin and enter your vehicle without having to remove the key from your purse or pocket. The access and authorization system works by automating data exchange between the convenience key and the vehicle that allows you to unlock the trunk and doors, and even activate the engine with just one press on your key.

A proximity sensor based on sound, also known as a capacitive sensor, makes use of acoustic waves to detect the presence of objects near. The sensors produce an oscillator-generated signal. This signal is then transmitted into the air by an audio microphone, which converts it into an audio file. The audio files are compared to determine the degree of similarity and how close they are. When they are close enough the system will send an alert signal to the key and will send an ID signal that matches with the vehicle.
