Buying a Twin Stroller With Car Seats

You can choose a frame that is lightweight and can accommodate two infant car seats during the baby days. The top choices include the UPPAbaby Vista V2 Double and Joovy twinRoo+.

This model allows you to turn the car seat carriers in the same or opposite direction. It also comes with an ample storage bin which can be accessed without having to remove the infant carriers. It can also fit through the majority of doors.

Folding is easy

The Vista V2 by UPPAbaby is a massive, stunning twin stroller that can carry two infant car seats with the correct adapters (car seat adapters are available separately). It glides and pushes easily while turning and spinning as a single-seat stroller. It features footrests that can be adjusted, leg and leg rests that are adjustable and a huge UPF 50+ canopy, a peekaboo windows and padded 5-point safety harnesses. You can also use the included toddler seat, or choose to add the RumbleSeat that is a bassinet-like seat for small children and infants. The oversized storage basket is roomy enough to accommodate all your items and has a convenient spot to store your purse or phone, and four cup holders.

But it can also be difficult to fold, especially when you've got one hand on the handlebar and the other on the child's car seat. And you'll need to disconnect the rear seat from the base when you want to fold it down, a process that is more time-consuming than other double strollers we've tested. The company has updated its Vista stroller to be compatible with the new car seat adapters. The latest version (launched in April 2023) is compatible with both the original adapters and the updated ones. It can fold with two adapters attached simultaneously.

Another option for families with twins is the Joovy TwinRoo+, our most popular infant car seat twin stroller frame. It can be used with 23 different car seats, and twins can be carried in infant carriers simultaneously. It's a favorite for many parents who drive cars with smaller wheels, and its clever design shortens the overall length so that it fits better in some compact trunks. The seats are padded and comfortable, and they recline to multiple positions with the push of a button. The buckles are among the easiest to unfasten and fasten in our tests.

The only issue with the TwinRoo+ is that its bench seat is designed for a big kid who's at least 2 1/2 years old--so it's not a good choice for twins or siblings close in age. However, it's a great option for families that want to jog and its robust frame construction means that it won't wear out as quickly as other tandems we've tested.

Wheel Suspension

The suspension of the wheels on twin strollers with car seats is a feature that makes it more comfortable for the children. This is particularly true if you're walking on bumps and rough terrain. Strollers with suspension typically have larger wheels and more shocks. The more shocks a stroller has the smoother its ride.

A twin stroller that has a car seat that is easy to steer will be more durable. It will allow it to last longer, which is a plus if you plan on using it for multiple kids or a long period of time.

The Baby Trend Snap N-Go Double is one of the best twin stroller s for infants with car seats. It features a fantastic suspension on the wheels and is an old model. It's loaded with features that parents love, such as two cup holders, a console for parents with a cup holder and the storage basket, which can hold lots of items. It also has a handle that can be adjusted to height that can be useful for taller parents.

Chicco BravoFor2 is another popular alternative for twins who have infant car seats. It is a sit and stand stroller that could be used as a twin stroller, or with one infant seat in the front. double buggy from birth offers plenty of storage space and is compact when folded. It has some nice extras like magnetic crotch belts that can be opened or closed with one hand.

It also comes with a 5-point safety harness that will keep your children secure in the event of an accident. This feature is not always on strollers, but it is a must for families with toddlers or infants.

Another top choice for twin strollers with car seats is the Contours Options Elite V2. It comes with all the wonderful features we like, including reversible seats and one-hand recline, compression padding on both seats, adjustable leg rests, zippered extensions on both canopy and storage space that is extra-large. It also features height-adjustable handle and an improved seat design to make it easier to reverse seats when you move.

Canopy

A canopy will shield your children from the rain and sun. Some models come with extra features, such as the ability to peek behind or adjust the handles. One of our most popular choices, the BravoFor2 is equipped with the front seat that buckles at the waist and shoulder, making it easy for a single person to take both children out. The bench seat can only be used by children who are at least 2 1/2, therefore, it's not suitable for twins or children with younger siblings. We liked that the stroller folds up into a compact unit and comes with a handle on both sides to help move it to your car.

Some parents prefer a double stroller that can be used together because it is less likely to cause sibling disputes. These strollers allow parents to communicate and interact with both children simultaneously. The downside is that side-byside strollers are generally heavier and longer than single models.

If you're looking for a lightweight and affordable alternative the Baby Trend Double Snap N-Go is a highly rated and cost-effective option. It can fit two infant car seats. The newer version allows them to be placed in any direction. We found the new version to be less bulky than the previous model, however it weighs a bit more and is a little larger than the Joovy TwinRoo+.

Parents who want to run, our top-rated twin jogger is the Jeep-branded Urban Glide 3. It can accommodate one car seat at a time--and even though it doesn't come with an integrated infant carrier, it works with 23 different brands of car seats with the click-in adapter. It's a solid, well-made stroller that can carry big loads without straining, and we liked the way that the handles adjust to fit your height.

If you have two children with similar age, you might prefer a model that sits and stands, such as the Joovy Twin Roo+. The stroller can accommodate two infant car seats or one toddler seat. It also has a platform for older children to stand on. It's a tad more expensive than our budget stroller, however, it's manufactured by a small family-owned business with excellent customer service.

Seating

If you're planning on using car seats for twins who are infants A stroller that can accept these will be crucial. Many of our top-scoring double strollers come with car seat adapters, making them compatible with all the top brands. The UPPAbaby Vista v2 Double stroller can accommodate two car seats. The Joovy Twin Roo+ can accommodate a single car seat and a bassinet. We recommend strollers that are compatible with multiple infant car seats since you can choose from a variety of prices and not be tied to one brand.

You'll need to decide whether you prefer a tandem or side-by-side stroller. A twin stroller with a side-by-side design offers a more traditional seating configuration, and it's easier to maneuver -- particularly in tight spaces or over curbs. A tandem stroller on the other hand, can feel more unstable and requires more space between the seats. The different heights of the seats could also lead to a fight between siblings.

Fortunately, we've found that there are plenty of stroller options that can be used by families with twins who are infants or children of similar in age. The Baby Trend Sit & Stand double stroller, for example is a highly-rated option that works with car seats. Parents can take their children in comfort from their car to the stroller.

The rear and front baskets of the stroller are also spacious. These baskets are great for storing all your essentials, including diaper bags, extra clothing, and backpacks. Additionally, the front storage has a dedicated compartment for keys and phone. The baskets are made of mesh to prevent objects from falling, meaning you don't need to search around for them.

Another option that is budget-friendly is the Evenflo Pivot Xpand Double stroller, which offers a similar flexibility to our top award winners. Its seats work with two infant car seat carriers and be converted to two bassinets for toddlers or modified ones that can face either direction. This makes it an excellent choice for twins, from birth until early childhood.
