WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades provide a guaranteed boost to certain stats. Each upgrade boosts the item level by +3. A random additional substat is also added to every upgrade.

Upgraded gear generally sees greater value for trade regardless of whether it has low requirements (like the FB shield of the sorc) or has a high stat variance (like the eth titan weapons). Upgrades are less useful for those with lower requirements because of the requirement to roll a perfect version.

Recycle Points

The upgrader for items allows players to upgrade their gear to a higher item level by supplying the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any kind of armor or weapon. The item used to upgrade the item will be consumed and cannot be used again. Upgrades can also be applied to enhancements.

The upgrader is located in all major cities, and can be accessed anytime to upgrade your equipment. It is recommended that you visit the upgrader every couple of weeks to keep your equipment up-to-date.

Upgrades will cost more depending on the item level, however they'll always be cheaper than buying new gear. For instance upgrading a Benthic chest piece to 385 ilvl will cost 20 recycle points while buying a similar item from another player will cost 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are useful items which can be used to level up weapons and tools, armor and other items. They can be purchased by players from NPCs of item upgraders for various currencies. They are also available on random treasure lists. Once an upgrade is purchased, it can be used on any weapon, tool, or armor using the help of button, which will display an image of the item when it is upgraded when the player has enough materials.

Upgrade costs differ based on the item slot, and the current item level. For instance, weapons will cost more than bracers, or gloves. Each upgrade cost 15 Flightstones and a few crests, with certain upgrades having a discount to reduce the cost of Flightstones or crests used. Once an item is upgraded to a certain level it can be re-downgraded and sold to the upgrader at a lower cost.

Many locations offer item upgraders, including the main Island and a few outposts. The NPCs offer both an upgrade discount and the chance to obtain a new upgrade recipe. The discount for upgrading increases when more items are upgraded. It can be increased if players complete certain achievements or quests.

Unlike Cromwell in Baldur's Gate II, there is no upgrader for items at the start of Icewind Dale. Instead, Related Home Page that are available to help with upgrades require a variety of means which is both an improvement but also a drawback.

In Season 3, the upgrade system was tweaked a bit, with numerous new features added. Once an upgrade has been completed to a specific level for an armor slot upgrading other items to the same item level will cost less. This applies regardless of whether the items come from an entirely different set of equipment.

The amount of Valorstones required for upgrades is reduced, and the discount is affixed to all accounts. In the same way, the amount of Harbinger Crests required for upgrades is also cut and is not available until players have reached certain milestones in their achievements.

Crests

Players have a variety of options when it comes to upgrading their equipment in WoW. They can choose to use Flightstones, which are a common upgrade currency that is available to everyone, or crests, which are more specialized and are used to upgrade specific levels of items. Crests are the main component of the Dragonflight gear progression system, which was introduced in 10.1 and are available in 4 ranks.

The first thing to remember is that crests can only be used on equipment of a particular rank, and that each rank has different requirements for its upgrade path. The simplest and simplest upgrade process costs just 15 crests while the more complex one can require as much as 20 crests based on the type of equipment being upgraded.

Players can obtain crests by completing content of the appropriate level, which involves walking around and performing outdoor activities for gear of lower tiers, raids or dungeons of any difficulty for higher-tier items, or Mythic+ heroic raid bosses and dungeons for gear that is used in the endgame. The crests can then be exchanged with an upgrader for the item, such as Cuzolth or Vaskarn in Valdrakken for the appropriate upgrade steps and paths.

The new currency system isn't complicated to use, however it brings some changes to the process of upgrading. Once a piece of gear reaches the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer or Adventurer) it no longer requires Flightstones. This change allows players to upgrade their equipment to the highest possible ilvl on all of their characters instead of relying on seasonal loot.

It's also crucial to choose crests wisely, as they have only one purpose. It is recommended to put your Whelpling-rank Crests on the highest-quality gear you can find and save Drake and Wyrm Crests to be used for the next set of upgrades. This is particularly applicable to rings and trinkets that take up multiple slots on the character, which can only be eligible to avail the account-wide discount when all slots are filled with high-quality gear.
